Emma Cottage x 1

Emma Cottage was once the ironing room and dairy room on the farm. In 2004, Senta Berger, the famous German actress filmed a South African film at Rietfontein. Thereafter we decided to renovate the building into a cosy and comfortable cottage for our guests.

The Hoepoe unit comprises of 1 x twin room ensuite and 1 x double room ensuite. The original building was also used for a dairy and a tool store "gereedskapkamer". We renovated this unit in 2005.

The Ostrich Unit comprises of 2 x en-suite twin rooms with shower & bath and 1 x en-suite double room with shower & bath
The original building of Ostrich Nest was run of the original homes on Rietfontein. Where the third generation Potgieters (the 3 Potgieter brother) grew up. JE Potgieter later built the Ostrich Palace in 1909, which today homes the fifth generation of Potgieters.
