We enjoyed our stay so much,we were sad to leave. The service and warm hospitality were more than impressive.The facilities were fantastic and the room and it's atmosphere gave us a feeling of total relaxation, tranquility and especially romance. Wonderfull stay oct 2008.
Fantastic !!!! Falling asleep on the sound of blowing whales, waking up because (the same?) whale is breaching right in front of the apartment and whilst a dozen (really !!!) whales are playing in front of the house, enjoying a well prepared and wonderful breakfast on the sunny balcony.
The apartment is clean, quiet, spacious, really nicely furnished (though the bed is just a bit to hard to my likings) and a great bathroom. So all in all very very comfortable. And on top of it all y ... more

Oceanfront. Affordable luxury. In the best area for land based whale watching. Kleinzee is set on the cliffs of De Kelders where the Southern Right Whale calves each spring. Peaceful and private, an ideal retreat for lovers of the great outdoors. Built in the Cape Dutch farmhouse style with some of the walls consisting of stone sourced locally to add warmth and character. Enjoy a hearty breakfast on the balcony overlooking the ocean with award winning local cheese and preserves. Sample local wines while watching the sun set over the ocean from your private whale viewing deck. There are three ocean facing suites with direct access to a sea side hiking trail and balau whale watching decks with panoramic ocean and mountain views. Concertina doors open the rooms completely to the ocean. The rooms are luxuriously appointed with private access, under floor heating and satellite TV. Beds are king size with luxurious linen, down duvets and fluffy pillows to whisk you off to dreamland. The spacious bathrooms are en-suite with Victorian baths and pebble floor showers. The honeymoon suite has it's own private lounge. It's bathroom is open plan with a large bathtub and sea view shower. A heated splash pool in the sheltered courtyard is an ideal remedy for those hot summer days. A convenient 5 min drive takes you to Gansbaai Town, known as the big two town for it's Great White Shark cage diving industry and spectacular whale watching. Kleinbaai harbour where shark cage diving and whale watching vessels depart is a mere 10 mins drive. Hike to the nearby Walker Bay nature reserve with its own sheltered swimming bay and caves of archaeological interest. Explore the rugged coast line via sea-kayak, go for cave tours (1 mins walk away) or simply relax on your own private deck. De Kelders is approximately 180 km's drive from Cape Town airport and 40 km's drive from Hermanus. A shuttle service from the airport to Hermanus with car hire in Hermanus is available. Surrounded by Fynbos, pristine country side, award winning wine and cheese farms and many other hidden treasures, you will be inspired and rejuvenated by the tranquility of nature.
