The De Hoop Collection offers accommodation ranging from camping to more luxurious options set in the magnificent surrounds of the De Hoop Nature Reserve. Few other reserves offer as complete an outdoor experience as De Hoop, with sea, sand dunes, the vlei, a floral sensation of rare fynbos plants, diverse antelope and the Potberg Mountains.

Birdwatchers spend time along the shores of the vlei observing wading birds, while the Potberg Mountains are home to a colony of endangered Cape vultures. Hikers and cyclists have close encounters with bontebok, the Cape mountain zebra, eland, red hartebeest and baboons. Activities are diverse and guests can choose between various day walks, the Whale trail, mountain biking along the many gravel roads, horse riding and scenic game drives. Lazing on the beach and snorkelling in the many turquoise rock pools are great ways to pass the days.

De Hoop offers a holiday experience for any type of traveller, from the backpacker to the guest preferring the finer things in life. A truly memorable getaway awaits.

Fun: From whale watching and birding to game viewing and areas of anthropological interest, its 70km of rugged coastline and sheltered rock pools provide ideal swimming in addition to land based whale-viewing.

Family: Large, self-catering units and a myriad of outdoor activities, make this the ideal holiday destination for families.

Great Outdoors: Hiking, snorkelling, mountain biking and scenic game drives are just some of the activities on offer.

Wedding Venues: The Stables which is located in the Melkkamer area overlooking the vlei, is an old, sandstone, farm barn that has been completely renovated and has been transformed into a unique venue for weddings and other special events.

Conference venue: A fully equipped conferencing facility is set in the stately old Opstal Manor House and will have room for a maximum of 30 attendees. The conference attendees can be accommodated in any of the accommodation options available at De Hoop.

Outstanding Views: Beautiful views over the vlei and the ocean.

Relaxation: For bird-lovers, De Hoop offers something special. The reserve is famous for more than 260 resident and migratory bird species, and visitors can look forward to spotting.

We enjoyed the beautiful rondavel with a lovely view of the river and koppie. To see the river and the baboons while showering was quite a treat! All-in-all, a nice experience.

Loved the dunes, beautiful rock pools and abundant bird life. Koppie Alleen looks like a great place to stay. We stayed in the Opstal's equipped cottages and my six- and four-year old had a ball.

Self-catering accommodation at Opstal excellent. Walking east or west from Koppie Alleen wonderful. Recommend bird- ing tour with Pierre. Lovely guy. Gravel roads from entrance gate to De Hoop and Koppie Alleen awful unless you've got a 4x4. Will go there again next year.

We enjoyed our stay. The baboons were a bit scary, the weather was great. The first night was awesome, as we had the privilege to stay in one of the guest houses. The walks we took was awesome, as we walked each morning and each night after we had eaten. The animals we saw was a great experience for us. We went to the beach and also enjoyed the pool on the reserve. Thanks to the staff for their assistance and kindness.

We stayed in one of five rondavels in the De Hoop National Park and loved it! The park is so peaceful, you see zebras, bontebok etc. You can make coffee/tea or a braai in front of the rondavel. The De Hoop Collection also has a nice restaurant. The dunes at the beachfront were wonderful and unforgettable.
