Description
Situated in the heart of the SanWild Wildlife Sanctuary and dwarfed by Spitzkop, this luxury tented camp looks out over the vast vista of the Drakensberg Mountains and will ensure you enjoy tranquility and serenity. Come and save your soul without delay at the Bukisa Camp.
The camp consists of 4 safari-style tents each with an en-suite bathroom and electricity and a central facility consisting of a lounge, dining and pub area with a fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and rock pool. Undercover parking for guests also available.
At the waterhole below the camp you are almost guaranteed a visit by Bukisa’s herd. This small group of African elephants were rescued from an imminent culling operation in the Thukela Biosphere Reserve in 2006 and relocated to the safety of the SanWild Wildlife Sanctuary where they have built a new life for themselves. Other animals like impala, kudu, blue wildebeest, zebra, and giraffe are also spotted at the waterhole on regular visits. You may even be lucky to spot an elusive aardvark or pangolin; or even a leopard. The camp or individual tents are available on a self-catering option at this stage. Game drives are included in our rates and you have the optional extra of a guided ranger trail.
