Only a two hour journey from Lusaka by car or luxury bus, the lower Zambezi offers camping and lodge accommodation suitable to all pockets. One can choose to stay in one lodge on the tranquil banks of the Kafue River or in a number of lodges on the Mighty Zambezi River. Accommodation varies from camping - offering the best camping grounds in Zambia; bedded tents or en-suite air conditioned chalets with DSTV and complimentary tea and coffee tray, All set in lush green lawns with beautiful views over the rivers,or within the GMA or national park close to the wild.
Also on offer for the adventurous are one to 3 day canoe safari's were one can enjoy the flora and fauna close up. The Lower Zambezi boasts a huge variety of bird life and this is the best way to appreciate it. If one selects the two or three day trips the evenings are spent camping on an island in the middle of the Zambezi close to nature. Game viewing or fishing on owned or hire boat is the relaxing way to enjoy what the rivers have to offer returning back to camp with cocktail in hand at sunset.
Fishing for the famous tiger and other river species is easier with the assistance of the experienced coxswains who come from the local villages and surrounding area and speak proudly of their local history and socio-culture.
Friendly and accommodating staff serve breakfast, lunch and an `a la carte or buffet dinners either inside or out on our deck overlooking the rivers.
For those who absolutely have to stay in touch with the real world there is wireless internet at most lodges and cell phone coverage reaches most arrears. It is recommend you switch off the phone and hide the watch guaranteeing relaxation in readiness for when one returns to stress of real life.
The lower Zambezi is the perfect location for a relaxed weekend away and family time together and is accessible through out the year, including the green season.
