There are five A-frame thatched units located next to the hippo dam and rockpools. This is a real bush experience. All units have a shared braai area. Also ideal for wedding guests who just require basic accommodation so they can lay there head. A shop is located nearby so you are able to buy the basics or feel free to have lunch at the main restaurant located at Aloe.

Aloe Lodge is located in the centre of Tala Game Reserve. Here guests will find the main reception, curio and restaurant. All rooms are tastefully done and have their own unique room effects. You will find a great variety of bird species, as well as Nyala bulls, warthog and Ostrich. Also located within these grounds is the Aloe Boma and Conference Centre. Some units can accommodate up to three guests.
These units are located in a very peaceful part of the reserve. This old farmhouse has been lovely restored. All five rooms flow through to a formal lounge and dining area. This unit is ideal for small corporates and families. We are able to prepare and supply meals whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner on request depending on the length of your stay.
With these cottages you can sit on the veranda and watch as giraffe, Impala and Nyala graze mere meters from you. Alternatively you can listen to a variety of bird species or the call of the fish eagle. Each unit has a small kitchenette and braai area. There is also a communal gas table stove.
These are six cottages located in a very exclusive area of Tala Game Reserve. Each Cottage is spaced about 20 metres apart from each other offering the guests extreme privacy. Listen to the many sounds of bird species that are found in this region, or prehaps be interrupted by a friendly herd of Nyala while having a sundowner. Each cottage has a small comfortable lounge area which flows onto the wooden deck or through to the four-poster bedroom. The bathroom is open-plan so you can enjoy a outdoor shower or the security of an indoor shower. Our Leadwood guests can ask to be transfered to the main lodge by one of our dedicated rangers.
This Lodge was orginally a farmhouse that has now been converted to a six-bedroom lodge. There is also a beautifully restored rondavel which is ideal for the romantics. Within these grounds there is a rockpool which can only be utilised by the Mahogany and Paperbark Guests. This unit is also ideal for large families as all the rooms converge into a central lounge.
Paperbark is perfect for overnight, conference or wedding stays. Originally cattle sheds, all these rooms have now been painstakingly renovated. All the units have their own private veranda. Enjoy an early morning coffee with herds of zebra, blesbok, wildebeest and eland grazing only a few steps away.
Rondavels are the only units within Tala that are gas-operated and does not take any electrical appliances. Each unit has a shower and braai area. For bird watchers and game lovers that want total piece of nature, we highly recommend these units.
