Directions to Tsakane Safari Camp
Directions:
Tsakane Safari Camp/ Tsakane Conservation Centre -
For arrivals after dark please call us and we will escort you from the entrance gate.
The Reserve reserves the right to search your vehicle and person, please cooperate with our security staff.
Please stay in your vehicle at all times and maintain a healthy distance from Elephants.
Always stop beyond Elephants rather than in front of them.
a. From Hoedspruit (Johannesburg / Pretoria via Dullstroom)
• From Hoedspruit take the R40 to Phalaborwa
• Travel for 25Km and cross the Olifants River
• Travel a further 5 Km and pass the Viva Garage on the Right and the Tzaneen turn-off on the
left (ATM available at the Viva Garage)
• A further 800m turn Right at the Reserve Entrance Gate onto a gravel road at the sign Balule
Nature Reserve – Parsons Gate
• Travel for approx. 6km on the gravel road until you reach a gate, bypass the gate to the
right.
• After passing through the gate, follow the main road which bends right at a sliding gate. Stay
on the main road.
• After approx. 2Km, turn left at the 1st rock pedestal (Follow Plot 71 along Elephant Alley)
and travel for 2Km
• At the T-Junction turn right
• After 100m turn Left
• At the Tsakane pedestal turn right and follow the road to the camp
b. From Tzaneen (Johannesburg / Pretoria via Polokwane)
• From Tzaneen take the R526 to Witriver
• Pass Gravelotte (do not turn to Phalaborwa) and continue for 35Km
• At the T-Junction turn left towards Phalaborwa.
• A further 800m turn Right at the Reserve Entrance Gate onto a gravel road at the sign Balule
Nature Reserve – Parsons Gate
• Travel for approx. 6km on the gravel road until you reach a gate, bypass the gate to the
right.
• After passing through the gate, follow the main road which bends right at a sliding gate. Stay
on the main road.
