Directions to AHA Madikwe River Lodge

From Johannesburg to through Abjaterskop Gate:

• Merge onto the N1 and continue towards Pretoria;
• Follow signs the N4/Rustenburg;
• Continue along the N4 through Groot Marico into Zeerust;
• In Zeerust you will see a sign directing you to Gaborone/Madikwe Game Reserve, turn right on the R47/R49;
• It is approximately 90 km to the Abjaterskop Gate;
• Inside the reserve, follow Derdepoort Gate signs for approximately 32 km, until you see a Madikwe River Lodge turnoff to the right;
• Continue for approximately 3 km to the lodge.

From Johannesburg to Derdepoort Gate via Pilanesburg:

• Merge onto the R21 and continue north to Pretoria through Kempton Park;
• After approximately 40 km, follow the N1 north to Pretoria/Pietersburg;
• From the N1, take the N4 west towards Pretoria/Rustenburg/Hartebeespoort;
• Follow the N4 for approximately 60 km towards Hartebeespoort;
• From Hartebeespoort, continue on the N4 for approximately 30 km towards Rustenburg;
• Merge onto the R556 and continue for approximately 94 km towards Sun City;
• Continue pass Sun City’s entrance on your right hand side;
• Pass the Sun Village garage and shopping centre, it is recommended that you fill up with fuel at the Sun Village garage;
• Continue for approximately 5 km and turn right at the T junction towards Derdepoort;
• Continue for an additional 10 km and then turn right towards Bapong;
• Continue for approximately 40 km. Do not turn off at the Madikwe Hospital sign;
• At the second four-way stop, turn right to Derdepoort;
• Continue for 30 km onto a gravel road;
• Continue for 15km and then turn right towards Derdeport;
• After approximately 40 km, you will get to a four-way stop;
• Turn left at the gate and follow signs to the lodge.
