the game viewings in the estate
Lee Pitts - Wednesday, 28 June 2023
The pool wasn't in working order, we could have been advised about that beforehand. due to being there with two children and it was warm enough to swim.

Establishment Response:

Good day Lee
Thank you for your review it is always appreciated .

Unfortunately as I stated and sent the same message from HWE management .. we are not allowed to fill pools nor water gardens at present . This is still beyond our control .

I apologized in advance for this , and upgraded your stay with us by opening up the additional lodge ( lodge 3) for more comfort allowing you the 2bedroom 2bathroom unit , I stead of the sleeper couch your children would have shared in the lounge .

Together with an earlier check in time .

Regards Tammy

Stunning pool area overlooking the bush
Tamsin Schepers - Friday, 28 January 2022
We stayed at the Tamboti unit at Leadwood Safari Lodge. It was beautifully situated along the riverbed and next to the swimming pool (which we had all to ourselves). After a long trip from Jhb we enjoyed a refreshing swim overlooking the bush. We absolutely loved it! The room and bathroom were lovely and clean. Would definitely stay there as a stopover again! Thank you.
Enjoyed ourselves :-)

Great self catering lodge
Loraine Codd - Monday, 23 April 2018
Leadwood lodge is situated on a small stream at the far end of Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. Very quiet, clean, lovely outdoor showers. We saw giraffe and Waterbuck from the verandah. Well equipped and good value for money.
Birding paradise

We had a lovely stay and the lodge is very well equipped, spacious and comfortable. Tammy was very friendly and helpful. Only draw back was no air conditioning. The lodge was very hot despite using the fans. Definitely recommend it to friends and family.
Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre
Rene Van Son - Sunday, 27 August 2017
Leadwood is a comfortable and beautiful house with everything one needs: baths, showers indoor and outdoor, a more than well equipped kitchen, ice machine and many more thinks that ensure a relaxing and happy holiday. We loved the Moholoholo Centre and tour there, and enjoyed an excellent diner at the Hat & Creek. In the estate is game and rich birdlife. During a bush walk not far from the lodge we found leopard tracks and spoors of some smaller cats. So it is not a zoo in Hoedspruit.

The Lodge was beautifully situated in the Hoedspruit Wildlife reserve, very convenient to do some of the activities in the area.
Stunning and breathtaking

Three of us were staying at their Leadwood Lodge. Their hospitality were marvelous and we loving every of it because it got everything included swimming pool that we can chill after a very hot day. We enjoys the outdoor shower. This place is such a perfect place to relax and one hour drive to Kruger National Park (Orpen Gate). There are many more activities in Hoedspruit. The owner was great, kindness and friendly. We will definitely coming back for sure.
Absolute Bliss

This was an unexpected treat to arrive at this lodge. The house is away from everything, and situated in stunning bush surroundings in the secure Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. The house has everything that you can dream of, and the bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and outside and inside showers are to die for. Driving to the house you see lots of wild and birds in the estate. Hearing the local zebras and hyenas (from adjacent reserve) in the evening with owls etc just made this place magical. We will be back as much as possible to experience this place again.
Stylish, spacious bushveld accomodation

What a wonderful place. We had an extremely pleasant 2 night stay in stylish, spacious, comfortable accommodation. Peaceful bushveld and indigenous trees surround the property. Wildlife is at the doorstep. Excellent value for money!
Needs some work
Anthony Goodall, Mozambique - Friday, 27 June 2014
Beautiful Lodge. Unfortunately we had no hot water in either en-suite. I called to have this rectified but my call was not answered and my message not returned. There were also many light bulbs blown around the house, so the place needs to be maintained a little better. We also didn't receive any cleaning service during our stay which we were not aware of.
Establishment's Response:
Unfortunately I was working in Mountainous area with no reception, and he never left a voicemail on my husbands phone, who had reception and would have attended to his call. I do have a feeling the geyser switch on the main DO.B. Electrical board was down, or tripped fro some reason, as I have checked with my guests who are in lodge now, they have had hot water. I have asked my manager to check on the light bulbs in question. I replied to Mr. Goodall that the lodge does stipulate self cater, and that it is mentioned on the website that arrangements can be made for domestic servicing at an additional cost.
WOW

Excellent lodge, my boyfriend and i enjoyed the tranquillity and secludedness of the lodge. Beautiful house. The roaming impalas, the zebras and giraffe which we were welcomed by were truly a great experience. Loved it.

Heerlik
Hendrik Rabie, South Africa - Sunday, 12 August 2012
Voorwaar 'n bosveld vakansie!
In the bush
Jackie Crews, South Africa - Tuesday, 29 May 2012
A comfortable modern home at a very reasonable price. The stunning setting makes you feel as if you are a million miles from anywhere, but you are close to civilisation. Spacious decks, large bedrooms and bathrooms with great outdoor showers. (indoor showers too!)
Relax in luxury!
Franz Rabe, South Africa - Thursday, 20 October 2011
A long wooden walkway leads you to a beautifully designed and luxurious lodge, slap bang in the middle of the bush. The bathroom areas are as big as the bedrooms - huge inside shower, as well as an outside shower in the garden - not to mention the bath overlooking the bush and river bed. Modern kitchen with leather couch in TV lounge in case any important sport games are on. Outside dinner/games table on deck. A braai area to die for. Definitely two braais a day here minimum. We only stayed for one night as we were on our way to Timbavati the next morning. But definitely coming back for a few solid days of relaxation, showering, bathing and braaiing.
