Very friendly staff. Lovely restaurant on site with excellent pizza.

The shower in our unit wouldn’t stay warm so we had a choice of scorching hot or ice cold water during our showers. The pillows were not comfortable at all.
The walk we took to the cascades.

Great restaurant, but rooms are a bit over-priced... Still, a good place to be. We'll be back.
Awsome food and stay

The pizza and pasta these guys make are top notches. We will find it hard to get a match in Gauteng. The peace and quiet was something to appreciate. The staff is friendly and quick with service and very informative about the area. We found this especially useful. I would really put this as a destination when I'm in the area again.

Host was attentive, welcoming, and informative. Excellent breakfast and infamous pizza in a lovely setting. Enjoyed the fireplace dining at dinner and breakfast on the veranda. Enjoyed two fantastic hikes in the Royal Natal National park only 7 km away. Hope to return.

the rondavell is pretty rustic, but purposeful. there is no wifi. but I guess this is due to being situated in a remote area. unfortunately we didnt have reception for our phones as well. the owner is very friendly and gave us super helpful advice for our journey due to riots on the highway.
Top class convenience and excellent value for money.

We found absolutely NO downsides relating to our stay at TOP Lodge. From ease of booking thru SafariNow to checking out, all was above expectation. Staff were all great, accommodation was very comfortable and the food was excellent. Also close to other local amenities. What more can one ask for?
Tranquility, comfort and convenience

We loved the tranquil farm-among-the-mountains setting. The rondawel made a positive impression upon arrival. It is conveniently equipped with, in addition to tea/coffee-making facility, a fridge and microwave. There is ample space to unpack and two luggage stands. We made the reservation specifically to do the Cannibals Cave parkrun (some 10km away) the Saturday morning. As we would have missed breakfast, we were offered sandwiches, fruit and juice instead. The restaurant's menu is appetizing with, among others, lovely pizzas. We had pizzas some 21+ years ago in the tower, and were given the opportunity to view the inside for memory sake. Breakfast is wholesome. The restaurant has unique farm-made chairs with two spades as backrest. There are further tables under trees and a children play area. Overall a lovely atmosphere, with the cottages and rondavels quite private.

Tower of pizza is inmy opinion a great overnight stop. It is however not a place to stay for longperiods at a time, unless you just plan on sleeping there.  We enjoyed the Great food in the restaurantand management is hospitable.

We had a wonderful stay at the Tower of Pizza, we stayed in a rondavel and had a view of the neighbouring farm. What you get is a wonderful bed, the room is furnished beautifully and everything is clean and in its place. The room has a table as well as fridge for keeping snacks and lunch. Breakfast is superb and the pizza restaurant is not to be missed. In the area you are close to Royal Natal National Park and All Out Adventures.
Awesome B&B in the Drakensberg

Stayed for 2 nights at Tower of Pizza. Very nice little 2 sleeper cottage, clean, well appointed, and perfect for a quiet getaway. Very friendly staff (and owner) and a very good breakfast to get the day started. Close to the Royal Natal Park with all its hiking and biking trails. All in all, a good experience and we will return.
Enjoyed it

Tower of Pizza Lodge
The Tower of Pizza Lodge is situated on a working grain farm in the Amphitheatre valley in the Northern Drakensberg, just 9 km from the Royal Natal National Park. Tower of Pizza has its origin in an unused grain silo, which with the addition of a traditional wood burning pizza oven, became a pizzeria. This quickly became a popular meeting place for both the local people and tourists and has grown into a landmark in the area. It is also used as a halfway meeting point for people travelling between Durban and Johannesburg.

Our accommodation was recently rated 3 Stars by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa and we offer comfortable, free-standing cottages or rondavels, all with en-suite bathrooms. Enjoy the company and tranquil setting that makes dining at the Tower of Pizza Restaurant a special experience. The restaurant menu includes pizzas, pasta, salads, sandwiches, desserts, and seasonal specials.

Activities on the farm or in the vicinity include hiking, fishing, horse riding, birding, tubing, abseiling and rap jumping, golf, mountain biking, 4X4 trails, and tours to the hydro-electrical scheme. Be sure to visit the nearby adventure centre for paintball, swinging trapeze, zip lines, and quad biking.
