Very friendly hostess and the breakfast was superb.

To was clean and well equipped with a separate kitchen and lounge. Heater that kept the room very warm during these cold nights Brigette was pleasant and very helpful and the welcome doggy very friendly We really enjoyed our stay

We enjoyed our short stay immensely, wish we had more time for exploring Calitzdorp, but we were there on a Sunday and a public holiday, Monday, and everything was closed. Which is a pity for a long weekend when people tend to travel and want to spend in every town they pass through. It was quite hot and we enjoyed a relaxing swim. The pool was full of leaves and insects, and would have been nicer if it wasn't.

No response to bell at office for 10 min on arrival. A local who visited to use the pool was the only person available to check me in. Room looked and felt like a converted storeroom with home-gym equipment stored there.

Andre was an incredibly warm host, eager to share the delights of his town. He even treated us to an amazing organ recital in the magnificent church. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. We will be back!

Easy to find from main road. There was no bell or similar to call proprietor and had to walk through main house to find him, although we had confirmed a late arrival. Room was clean and basic. We were not happy with the bedsheet and had that changed. Host "Andre" was very accommodating and helpful.

We had a lovely stay, Briëtte was a super hostess, warm & welcoming. She even offered to wash our laundry as we had arrived by bicycle. The rooms are fairly small, yet small and cosy. Briëtte Made us an amazing breakfast before departure 🙌🏻

The room was well appointed and comfortable. Briette was a charming and helpful hostess.

Everything was great. The beds were comfortable and showers hot. Having access to a kitchen/ lounge area was particularly useful. Bridgette was very welcoming and gave us helpful advice for our short stay.

I enjoyed my stay there - only wish I could stay longer!

Briette Barry is a wonderful host, her breakfasts and superb and her accommodation was pleasant and comfortable. We especially enjoyed an afternoon dip in the pool to calm the heat. Brilliant stay.

Dit was so stil en rustig. Ons is baie gasvry ontvang en die onbyt was heerlik! Die kamer was skoon en gerieflik. Ons het baie lekker gebly en sal beslis weer daar oornag .

We had planned s 2 night stay. After experiencing Welgevonden and our lovely hosts, we stayed another day.

Warm welcome and offered a drink upon arrival. Quiet place and excellent breakfast. Would stay there again if in Calitzdorp. Recommended a good Portuguese restaurant for dinner

We were so lucky to have found Welgevonden Guest House, it is an absolute gem!

Wegevonden is a treat of a place to stay. Comfortable and attractive rooms with unfussy décor, lost of shade (not to mention the pool), delicious breakfast, and a warm welcome.  

Our overnight stay in Welgevonden was just divine - the sense and reality of the history of the homestead where we stayed -   its natural, farming surrounds, with lucerne lands and tractor and old, huge trees - lovely organic and shady garden - such a sweet welcome, making sure we were happy with everything  - a most delicious pool with just-the-right-temperature- water -for the exceptionally hot, dry days - and  a lovely breakfast to see us into the morning. Thank you!

We stayed over at Welgevonden Guest House on Tuesday 12 May 2015 as well as on 18 May 2015 on our return journey. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bedroom decorated with taste.The hosts are very welcoming - we were offered something to drink on arrival. A tasty breakfast was served in the mornings in the breakfast room in the main house while we had a lovely view on the garden and the cows grazing in the fields below the house.We shall definitively stay over here again.

We used two rooms at the guesthouse and found it very clean and comfortable. The wooden floors and antique furniture gave a very rustic feel. We had a scrumptious breakfast and our every need was well-looked after.

My wife and I, and our son and his family, stayed a night in Welgevonden Guest House in April 2014; the absence of the owners, the Barrys, made no difference to the quality of the service. We have stayed there three times before and recommend it unreservedly. It is clean, comfortable, attractive, unpretentious.

A lovely stay. Accommodation was great and the owner so friendly and helpful. The breakfast served on the outside verandah was very special. Loved the sound of the church bells from Calitzdorp across the farm.

An absolute gem! Wonderful warm welcome, very comfortable with so many little details attended to.We enjoyed the shady stoep and swimming pool on a hot summer's afternoon.

You can tell your friends, that this stay is o.k. Friendly, clean, quiet, good dinner and breakfast and the nice garden with the pool. 1 night is not enough to see all things at Calitzdorp.
