Very warm welcome and personal service. Because of cold weather, would have liked a mat next to the bed. Lovely breakfast in a beautiful dining room. Would be happy to return.

De Molen Guest House
Enjoy the ambiance at De Molen Guest House and experience Cape hospitality at its best with a scrumptious breakfast against a superb natural backdrop of breathtaking sea and mountain views. The classic character estate enjoys a tranquil and secure setting high up on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain, with panoramic views of the sea, mountains and winelands.

Stylishly decorated in a natural, contemporary style, De Molen maintains its Old Cape charm and the supremely comfortable and spacious rooms and suites offer all the modern luxuries discerning travellers would expect. Delicious breakfasts are served on your own private panoramic balcony, in the breakfast room, or on the sunny verandah overlooking the beautiful garden and swimming pool. De Molen Guest House is the perfect base from which to explore nearby attractions and can accommodate up to 36 people on both a bed and breakfast and self-catering basis.

The Main House offers three large suites, 6 double rooms and 2 family semi self-catering rooms, each with incredible views over the mountains, winelands and garden. The suites offer a stunning panorama over the bay and all rooms are en-suite offering a hospitality tray, minibar and satellite TV. The cottages at De Molen are surrounded by lush vegetation and high trees which offers welcome spots of shade under the African sun. The 2 bed room cottage features a double bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and lounge. The 1 bedroom cottage offers a bedroom with a bathroom en suite and a lounge with a kitchenette. Cottages are serviced daily and guests are welcome to enjoy breakfast on request.

Take pleasure in a leisurely walk around the large and lush garden and delight not only the flowers, but also the numerous bird species. If you have a passion for good wine you will find happiness in the well-stocked bar, offering a fine wine selection that is much appreciated by guests. Guests are welcome to use the barbecue facilities or simply relax with an aperitif at sunset.

De Molen is one of the few places where the wind does not interfere with the outdoors. The Winelands can be visited nearby, as well as upmarket restaurants and shopping centres in Somerset West and Stellenbosch. Within a few minutes' reach, one will discover endless white sandy beaches, scenic mountain trails, and prestigious golf courses such as Erinvale.
