Bad service
Adele Latchman - Tuesday, 15 June 2021
We did not stay at this hotel. We got lost, called and the gentleman at the hotel wasn't helpful. As 2 women travelling alone this was scary let alone the environment surrounding the hotel where men were fighting and drunk outside
The friendly staff and the atmosphere in general

Firstly, the complimentary breakfast should not be the only option. Guests who are willing to pay for a full breakfast should be given that option. Secondly, the hotel must have parking for the guests, even for a minimum fee. Parking was very expensive on the street and we still had to pay parking for overnight at another place. Lastly, the rooms should have their own televisions or there could be such an option, at an added price. Sharing the television was a problem because we all wanted to watch our different programme.
Great locaton

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated in a great spot not too far from the sights, and is nice place to relax. The rooms could use a television and a mini fridge.
Disappointing

I'm afraid the photos and write-ups of this establishment are somewhat deceiving in my view. Whilst a very novel concept, the hotel is cramped and the rooms are furnished very basically. The towels and linen that were provided were old and had holes in; the furniture and decorations were dirty (chairs/scatter cushions), and the mattress was old and worn out. One has to park in the street and I’m not convinced that it’s all that secure, and the noise levels from the street carried on during the night. The front desk managers weren’t knowledgeable about the area as one would have expected and couldn’t provide answers to basic inquiries.

The spot to be our stay was a mixture of fascination and appreciation. The artistic styles of the rooms in this Boutique Hotel are quite captivating. The rooms were fresh and clean. Everything worked to the favor of the establishment. Located right on Long Street, we had easy access to all the various restaurants and the awesome nightlife of Cape Town. The service was outstanding. I would definitely refer anyone looking for a getaway with a difference to visit Daddy Long Legs.

Daddy Long Legs Art Hotel
Staying at Daddy Long Legs Art Hotel is like sleeping in an art gallery. Each of the thirteen uniquely designed rooms is a playful experience that is miles away from your average hotel stay. Poets, photographers, artists, musicians and designers interpret sterile hotel room décor with humour, imagination, energy and endless creativity.
It is a place to meet others and is ideally situated for exploring the character and nightlife of the city and its surrounds.

The communal bar / lounge area is the perfect spot to meet fellow travelers and visiting locals. Relax, order a drink and sit on the balcony to take in the vibrant atmosphere of Long Street; Cape Town’s creative and eccentric heart. And, at the end of the day, each Daddy Long Legs room offers good quality beds, cotton linen and a private shower and toilet. It all started from humble beginnings, one simple idea - offer travelers, spacious, creative, spotless and good value accommodation.

Obtaining all these goals together isn’t easy nor is it the norm in the travel industry. Then again our guests aren’t one to follow the beaten path. They are independent, creative, forward thinking travelers. We accommodate guests that don’t want to stay in another regular hotel room, in another regular city, or go on another regular holiday.

Daddy Long Legs Boutique Hotel offers accommodation with a difference! Housed in a beautiful 4 storey Victorian (1903) building, this will be the place to stay when in Cape Town. Every room is a work of art. Different Cape Town artists, musicians and poets have been commissioned to do the rooms, so every room is wonderful and unique. Relax in the beautiful bar and reception area. Sweet dreams.
