We stayed in cottage 6 on 21-Dec-13 and we loved the space. It is neat, clean and organized. Has got all that one needs for S/C. The towels were good and we appreciated the small soaps & the homemade mozzie spray. We enjoyed a swim in the communal pool. We also enjoyed the breakfast the next day. We stayed in cottage 11 on 02-Jan-14 and we loved the space. This cottage has only 1 bedroom but 2 bathrooms, which is lovely. This cottage has a private plunge pool that we enjoyed after the long drive & the 38 degrees heat. It was clean, neat & organized. One of the small towels had back marks on.

Brought my dad back to his roots in Calitzdorp. Delightful cottages! Typical country with everything you need.

The cottage we stayed in was lovely with a good view of the countryside and beautiful flowers in the garden. It was well-equipped, well-looked after and had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious and the people very friendly.

Loved everything about the place. It was a wonderful evening.

Very comfortable accommodation with a lovely view of the mountains. Ideal setting for enjoying wine bought on the wine farms around Calitzdorp.

The cottages were much more than we thought. We had the cottage at the end of the row, overlooking the Karoo. The mini plunge pool was really warm, and very welcome after a long day on the road. It is also a great place to base yourself for mountain biking and birdwatching. The breakfast was also very well presented and laid out. All in all, I highly recommend Spekboom Cottages, and will definitely stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was beautifully furnished and the small private pool was a real bonus.

A very comfortable overnight stay, with a delicious breakfast.

Definitely worth the stop. Delightful cottages with every possible thing provided for . From 'peaceful sleep' to dish washing liquid and our own 'little' swimming pool. I would highly recommend Spekboom. The owners and staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. I am already missing the breakfasts For anyone visiting the town you must stop at the Red Coffee pot for a meal- a little hidden gem. Great food and service. Decided to use Calitzdorp as our base for exploring the region and to attend a day at the KKNK. We were certainly not disappointed with our choice of staying at Spekboom and will certainly do so again.

My husband and I stayed at Spekboom Cottages on our way to Cape Town. The accommodation is FANTASTIC value for money and we felt very comfortable. Had it not been raining, we would have made use of the beautiful braai area and and plunge pool. We were served a wonderful breakfast the next morning, by the friendly owners and staff. Well worth a stay here!

We had the most relaxing weekend,so peaceful lovely hospitality and friendly people sweetest dogs,,, With no tv in the cottages - just what we needed! Not much to do in Calitzdorp, but only stayed for one night. Very large and comfortable living area with patio a cute little splash pool and lovely view of the mountains. Secluded and private.

Well received on arrival Pleasant bar but wife and daughter found nudes a little discomforting. Thanks Ryno for the bottle of preserve.

A cottage with a very special atmosphere, everything you need, very recommandable

Nicely decorated and lovely cottage with generous patio. The outside bathing facilities are fabulous. Very friendly, helpful host, who do all she can to make your stay pleasant. They serve an delicious breakfast. Excellent value.

The house was very comfortable and the age of the house contributed to the wonderful charm of the place. Management was very friendly and went out of their way to make it special for us.

The accommodation was outstanding, Mariette was warm and helpful. Calitzdorp is a delightful little town. Cant wait for our next opportunity to visit...when we will most certainly return to Spekboom cottages. Melinda Silverman and family

Very comfortable and upmarket. We have not tasted the food, but it looked to me as good. There is still room for renovations of the old :'Nagmaalhuisies' as the desolate weather will take it's toll.
