Very good as always, although room 3 not as practical as room 1. Will request room 1 in future!

Excellent as always!
Dennis McKillen, South Africa - Monday, 20 October 2014
Very comfortable, well equipped, clean, excellent catering, but had a problem the first night with excessive noise from the main building, but the contact (Colin) was out of town and the other contact (Esther) did not answer her phone. I had to resolve the problem myself. Evidently no staff stay on the premises at night. The next morning Felicity was very apologetic about the incident, as were the other staff members, but, I have yet to get any contact from either Colin or Esther. Surely there should be someone on site overnight to resolve any issues / problems, or at any rate within easy access to the property - and be available. What if a serious problem occurs - must guests take matters into their own hands; who would be held responsible for any damage etc. Other than this incident, I would go back as I was very impressed with Acorn.
Not available for us
Jacques De la Rey, Australia - Tuesday, 15 January 2013
On our way to the Guest House, weve phoned several times to arrange for a late check in, but all in vain. We rang Safari to explain our problem, and the Acorn return our call. The lady explained to us that we arent booked with them, but with 17 Wellington st. That was just not on!!!. We went to 17 Wellington st , to check in. All went well, and the new accommodation was really good. willie, the manager was really helpfull with a lot of info and advice of the area. I will defnitely make use of the facility again. However, I did not appreciate Acorn ignoring us like they did, especially after accepting our money
Warm, welcoming, pleasant

We stayed one night only. But we wish we had stayed there longer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful house, and they were very warm and welcoming. Better service than most 5 star hotels. Will definitely recommend to people.
What a lovely experience!

This was a peaceful refuge after a long drive. Warm, friendly and typically South African in its welcome. Enjoyable. Great send off in the morning but then again, I do like big breakfasts and this one didnt disappoint.
Cosy place

We enjoyed our stay at Acorn Guest House very much. It is a small and cosy place. I felt like at home. I recommend to everyone!

Our stay at Acorn was fantastic, really enjoyed our stay in this much older/ almost historic house with it`s wooden floors and authentic furniture.
Acorn guest house experience

Our flight to George was slightly delayed and we ended up checking in very late (about 20h00). There were people to greet us at the door and offer us help with our luggage and a sherry to warm us up a bit.

The room was beautiful and had a lot of thoughtful touches (peaceful sleep in the cupboards, tea /coffee and a variety of toiletries.) and as a result you immediately felt at home.

The breakfasts in the morning were filling and very creative (always something different to offer each morning). However if you wanted the something specific, this was also accommodated. The hosts did not seem to know the word no or we cannot. The guest house is also central and hence in walking distance from restaurants and sports grounds. We were sad when we left and carry many fond memories of our stay.
We would highly recommend this guest house to anyone.
The service was flawless.

Honeymoon

Absolutely lovely place to stay and a wonderful honeymoon welcome. The breakfast was the best I had in S.A! The owner couldnt do enough to help.

A wonderful place for rest bite along the garden route.
Exactly what it said in the description...and more!

Colin, Esther and their team are just fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend the Acorn Guest House to anyone and everyone that wants a better than home from home experience.
Very nice B&B with AC in George
Mr De Laet - Thursday, 08 February 2007
We are a family with 2 adults, a 4 year old and a 2.5 year old
[+] very friendly and helpful in giving suggestions
[+] large room with mezzanine
[+] very clean
[+] good breakfast, enough choice, and tasty
[+] Victorian house with antique interior (for those who like that)
[+] separate room with satellite television (including cartoon channels for kids)
[--] pool could be cleaner, but that is just to say something negative

We were at 9 Lodges and B&B’s and this one was absolutely one of the two best if not the best.

Rating : 4 to even 4 1/2 stars.
By George !

George is a good centre from which to access the Little Karoo, the coastline and the steam train.
Our room was spotless leading directly onto the pool and terrace where breakfast was served.

The town is safe for walking to restaurants, even when there is a power cut (the Acorn lend torches).Only five minutes walk from the town centre.

Colin, the proprietor, was a welcoming host and a fount of knowledge for tourism possibilities

One of the best stay overs away from home that we've experienced. The room and the whole atmosphere is wonderful and beautiful. What can I say more it was fantastic.
Excellent Hospitality
themba gezane, South Africa - Wednesday, 28 December 2005
We really had a fantastic time in George and thanks to Esther we got to explore places we wouldn't have. She really went out of her way to make us feel at home and always ready to assist. We will surely recommend Acorn to friends visiting George. Close to all the action. We believe that the breakfast/lunch box Esther made for us when we left was very kind and unheared off. Many guest houses do not do that especially if you leave at 5 in the morning. Thank you
