About Thaba Manzi Ranch

This is a 2000 acre game and cattle ranch nestled below and incorporating two and a half kilometres of the cliffs, kloofs and mountain forest of the Magaliesberg. Thaba Manzi is a venue where you can truly escape from the city life. Come and experience the wonder of multi-coloured indigenous nguni cattle and pedi sheep, grazing alongside haartebeest, eland, geemsbok, nyala, zebra, blesbok and graceful giraffes.

Enjoy an evening braai with the sounds of the bush and the calls of the jackals as background music. For the more active, we offer horse trails, hiking and climbing in the mountains and game viewing on numerous internal cycling and walking trails.

There are four comfortable self-catering cottages accommodating from two to four people comfortably and handling a total of 12 people sharing. Each cottage is individually furnished and uniquely designed with Victorian slipper baths and double showers. They all have fully equipped kitchens, their own braai areas and a shared pool area.

We look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you.

Safari: Enjoy Giraffe, Impala, Blesbok, Nyala, Eland, Gemsbok, Hartebeest, Jackals, Baboons, Warthogs and Vervet Monkeys as well as the cattle, sheep and horses of this African Farm. Horse riding, walking and cycling trails provide access.

The accommodation is very basic. The linen, couch etc is a little old But For the price it was fine. The room adjoining is very close and not noise proof so you can hear the neighbours next door. For a weekend out of the city and to experience the peace and quiet of a farm- it was perfect. The view was beautiful and we enjoyed the sunrise and sunset walks as the cattle moved about. My sons fed horses, milked the cows and just enjoyed the simplicity of farm life. The hostess Ester is really welcoming and offers to assist with anything you need. Vincent was also very accommodating with...

We had a wonderful time - it was everything we wanted . The peace and tranquility was fantastic. The scenery is incredible, and I loved the fact that we could go for a game walk wherever we wanted. We saw Eland, Impala and Giraffe. And that was just on our first walk. Sitting on the porch and watching the farm animals grazing before us, with the beautiful mountain view was awesome. The cottages are very well laid out and had everything we needed. We lacked for nothing, and the slipper bath was a treat! I'm definitely going back, and this time I'm taking the kids with me. Thank you...

House offers incredible views of the world's oldest mountain range as it sits on the edge of Mountain Sanctuary Park. The farm itself has the most amazingly lively livestock...majestic nguni cattle and pedi sheep that cavort like nimble goats. The contained unit adjoins another , a fact I was not aware of because much to my embarrassment I could hear the entire conversations of our neighbours assisted by a lack of ceiling boards in the bathroom. The unit is well equipped and adequate for a few nights if you can deal with the flies. I loved the farm but dealing with a million flies outside is...

Accommodation overlooks the majestic Magalies Mountains in the background, with a view of Nguni Cattle, Pedi Sheep and horses right on our doorstep. The staff, Esther and Vincent, were extremely welcoming and made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived and the hospitality continued throughout our stay.Getting to milk the cows and drink the fresh milk was an added bonus. The horseback safari was a great experience, especially getting to see all the game.. Thank you Hans, we will most definitely be back!

Thaba Manzi is a really lovely place and the kids had the greatest weekend seeing all the animals. They loved the horse ride. I thought one or two things could be addressed to improve the overall experience 1) Hand soap in the bathrooms. I don't think many people think to bring this themselves :) 2) Flat sheets on the beds. It's quite warm out there in summer so I don't think everyone would want to sleep under a duvet 3) the ants carried us away a bit - running up our legs on the patio. I know it's a farm and nature's all around but maybe spraying with environmentally friendly ant treatment...
