About Miss Chrissie's Country House
This is a beautiful country house with individual charm and character, restored caringly while still retaining many of its original features.
We offer nine en-suite guest rooms in a restored sandstone building, dating back to the 1870’s. The style is traditional with a classic ambience, some having fireplaces. The rooms each have its own individuality and exquisite linen.
There is also a private self-catering cottage in the garden. It features three bedrooms, a bathroom, an open-plan living area with a fireplace, and a kitchenette. We have a small campsite in the oak forest as well, where you can decide where to pitch your tent or park your caravan.
The communal lounge area has a large open fireplace, and is usually where we serve dinner. You can spend endless evenings relaxing with your family or friends, enjoying beautiful food and music. The pool room also has an open fireplace and a honesty bar. We have wine in the old wine rack, but you're welcome to bring your own as there is a fridge with ice.
The charming restaurant is furnished with some lovely pieces, and is joined by a large entertainment area with a built-in braai and overlook the lake. Experience beautiful sunsets over the lake with a sundowner on the veranda, or while strolling around the large garden. Guests can join in with the farm activities involving our sheep, cattle, geese, feed the calves or maybe learn to milk a cow.
Meals are prepared by reservation only. Reservations are to be made at least one week in advance. Dinner is an additional R160 per person per meal, breakfast is an additional R120 per person per meal. Children under 10 - dinner R80 per child, children under 10 - breakfast R70 per child.

Booked rooms are made available to the guest on arrival day after 14:00 until 10:00 on the day of departure.
Rooms will be assigned to guests by the guesthouse at their discretion.
Check in times are strictly between 14:00 and 20:00 on day of arrival.

Unless a later arrival time has been expressly agreed upon between the guesthouse and the guest, the guesthouse has the right to assign booked rooms to other person’s after 20:00, the guest deriving no rights to compensation as a consequence.
It is expressly understood by the guest(s) that the guesthouse is not a hotel and there is no 24 hour reception.
If departure is expected to be after 10:00, the guest must inform the front desk no later than 20:00 on the day before departure.
In the event of departure before 18:00, half of the room price for that day must be paid.
