About Matoppo Inn

Matoppo Inn is a beautifully restored building dating back to the 17th Century and is situated in a sprawling, lush garden estate in the heart of the Karoo (Beaufort West). This guest house is an urban sanctuary with a romantic heritage, a unique sense of style and a commitment to service excellence. We have family 4 sleeper rooms with 2 x double beds in the room and 6 sleeper rooms with 2 x double beds and a double sleeper couch.We offers seventeen beautiful rooms, each with its own charm. The spacious and delightful courtyard offers a quiet place to escape to. Perfect for children with a beautiful swimming pool to cool off and playing area. We are pet friendly and we also have a designated room for people with disabilities. We also offer a romantic wedding and function venue with conference facilities and ample parking. Whether traveling through the Karoo for business of leisure, Matoppo inn is an elegant oasis which offers luxury accommodation in peace and serenity. Safe off street parking. Dinner bookings essential prior to arrival.

Wedding Venues: Beautifully manicured gardens, lovey venue for a function, can accommodate up to 120 people in wedding venue.

Conference Venues: Conference venue can accommodate 80 pax.

Family friendly: Beautiful, tranquil gardens with a swimming pool, children's play area. Family rooms for 4, 5 or 6 pax per room

Covid Safety Approved: We have all COVID protocols in place. Sanitizers on strategic places,temperature test on arrival and guest questionnaire. Anybody with a high temperature is referred for further testings.

                                              The hotel exceeded my expectations. The lush gardens with a pool and plenty of cool, quiet places to relax was a big surprise. The room was large, bed comfortable, good wifi, and dinner there was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful as well.

                                              I had the lamb chops efficient were served why pumpkin fritters and a bean 'stew'. Everything was swimming in oil.I had a bath - I asked permission first given the drought - and the shower spewed up foul smelling water when I drained the bath. The outside patio was flooded. I didnt realise this until I stepped in it when I went to report the shower.My bed was very comfy but the Aircon/heater clanged and woke me up during the night.Between the Aircon noise, the foul stench and indigestion it was an awful night.
