About Epako Game Lodge

Epako Safari Lodge, completely renovated in 2013, is the ultimate luxury and fully inclusive Namibian wilderness destination. Situated within a breathtaking 11,000-hectare private game reserve and accommodating up to 20 guests, the lodge atmosphere is of stylish sophistication yet is elegantly down to earth. Epako is conveniently located midway between Windhoek, Swakopmund and the Etosha National Park.

All rooms and suites are luxuriously appointed in contemporary yet classic African-style and contain air-conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, mini-bars, satellite televisions, telephones, safes and their own furnished terrace overlooking either, the lodge waterhole, or non-perennial riverbed that fronts the lodge.

The main lodge comprises a lounge, dining room, bar area, media room, terrace and wrap around verandas. These areas were architecturally designed with space, luxury and comfort in mind and are perfectly positioned with a view of the well-visited flood-lit waterhole, providing superb game viewing directly from the lodge itself.

The management and staff of Epako ensure the highest standards of service and hospitality. The executive chef ensures that Epako dining is to the best international standards. Delight in local and international cuisine, served either in the main lodge dining room or on the adjoining open-air terrace, both with uninterrupted views onto the surrounding bushveld and lodge waterhole. The handpicked wine selections ensure that cuisine is married with superb wines allowing for a perfectly rounded dining experience.

Offering both morning and afternoon safari activities including game drives, bush walks, visits to the numerous Bushman rock art sites, visits to the cheetah rehabilitation boma and spelunking in the reserves caves, Epako's highly qualified guides will take you on a journey of true Namibian discovery. Depending on your particular interests, your hosts will ensure that your experience at Epako is richly memorable and rewarding.

The reserve is home to two of Africa’s Big 5, namely white rhino and leopard. Wild cheetah and spotted hyena are other apex predators found on the reserve. Many species of antelope including giraffe, eland, gemsbok, springbok, red hartebeest, blue wildebeest, Burchell’s zebra, impala and warthog call Epako home. Guests come from far and wide to view the key interest species such as damara dik dik, Hartman’s mountain zebra and black faced Impala which are found at Epako.

Ultimate personal service, scrumptious cuisine, genuine and attentive staff and true Namibian wilderness experience define the Epako safari.

Epako is a lovely game lodge with great care given to food and service. The bird life is wonderful, and the animal life includes wild ones and a somewhat tame giraffe whom they rescued as a baby. The surroundings are very inviting and nicely kept up. They even have free wifi. We wish we had stayed longer.
