About Daberas Guest Farm

Looking for a remote location? Consider Daberas, situated in Augrabies Daberas offers accommodation in Cape Ebony Lodge, which consists of the Safari and Khoi-San suites or Star Tree Guest House, a lovely renovated old farm house. The farm is a dedicated conservation area and therefore wild life is abundant in all its forms. The surrounding scenery consists of mountains, dry river beds, rock formations, sand dunes and quiver trees. Our 4x4 track is well known and has featured in several outdoor magazines and also as a TV documentary. Guided tours must be arranged at the time of the booking. Due to its remoteness, opportunities for solitude is offered but you could still be surprised by an encounter with large congregations of Namakwa and double-banded sandgrouse. Due to its rich biodiversity, several TV documentaries were produced here on location. We share the western boundary of the Augrabies Falls National Park and the land is due to be incorporated into the park to provide range expansion for rare species. Here you will still find leopards, fish- and black eagles etc.

We really enjoyed our stay at Daberas Guest Farm! We are interested in geology and got a very interesting and nice excursion through a wonderful landscape. It was a highlight of our holiday! We loved the house, the clear skies full of stars and the wilderness feeling. Thank you very much, Hanneke and Kobus!

Magnificent scenery, lovely accommodation. Kobus and Hannecke are very friendly, helpfull and excellent hosts. Kobus is extremely knowledgeable about the geography and fauna and flora of the area and took us on some beautiful scenic drives. Will definitely visit longer next time!

We stayed longer than planned as it was such a nice tranquil place and just to enjoy the lovely environment too. The owners were super friendly and their love for the place is infectious and inspirational. The sunset and geology tours was awesome too. Bit far and long drive on a gravel road so take things with you but its definitely well worth the effort! Thanks to Hannecke and Kobus, and all the best to you!

Lovely, peaceful location ! Beautifully appointed with everything we needed - definitely great value for money. Do not miss the sunset from Swartberg View Point. Two nights were too short, stay at least three !
