The hotel is an old medieval court located in a residential area of the historical centre of Conversano, (Town Art). It stands on a hill, 8 km far from the sea, near the area of the trulli and the grottoes . In 1100 a beautiful and young lady. Sybil Hauteville lived here; she was Robert Curthose's wife, who was William II the Conqueror's son. Following an accurate restoration, a very unusual complex of antique dwellings, located within the walls of the Medieval Hauteville Palace, has been transformed into a receptive centre with hotel rooms, elegant suites and apartments where original stone-built rooms with whitewashed plasters, barrel vaults and wooden beams do charm the guests. Special attention to the details in order to make everything elegant and sumptuous, between the past and the present, and harmonious contrast between the modern and the antique.

Corte Altavilla is located inside the old town of Conversano, of a great artistic importance,within the controlled traffic area(ZTL).The old town has a great artistic importance and it is a pedestrian area and therefore a controlled traffic area. (ZTL). The nearest access and the only one authorized to reach Corte Altavilla is located in “Viale Adriatico”(40°58'10.7”N/17°06'52.1”E), just in front of the Castle.
If you use the GPS device to reach our hotel,we advise you NOT to put our address (Vico Goffredo Altavilla) but Via Bari-Via Golgota corner (40°58'11.4”N/17°06'50.8”E), where the Eni petrol station is located, then you need to go up to the Castle Square along Corso Adriatico for 30 metres, passing by the parking place reserved to the residents of the old town to the access gate for the controlled traffic area (ZTL) (40°58'10.7”N/17°06'52.1”E).
