About Agama River Camp

About Agama River Camp

Agama River Camp began as a campsite but has recently expanded to include comfortable rustic bungalows. The bungalows have the option of sleeping on the roof under the Namibian sky where guests can watch the colours change on the Naukluft Mountains when the sun bids farewell to another stunning day.The camp is situated around a dry riverbed on the valley floor, with the Naukluft Mountains to the east looming proudly above everything. Despite being so remote, the camp is able to provide all the comforts of home and a surprising range of facilities for relaxation when not exploring

Loved the friendly staff, neat facilities.Management and catering staff went the extra mile to best meet our requests.Would recommend that rubbish bins be equiped with animal proof lids in order to prevent emptying of bins at campsites during nightime.

No wifi available.Establishment Response:We would like to thank you for your review. We normally have wifi at bar/reception area, however if and on rare occasions weather conditions or technical problems in the remote area cause problems. We do advertise that all meals must be pre-booked as we don't have a shop... Agama River Campsites are individually spacious, neat and well kept. Its well priced and a comfortable distance from Sossusvlei and Sesriem to drive there and back for a days outing. Beautiful sunsets can be enjoyed from the restaurant upperdeck. Lodge manager Marlise is certainly an asset to the lodge with her excellent interpersonal skills and friendliness. Definitely worth a return!

Agama has a great setting with lovely sunset and sunrise views from your own rooftop deck. They even give you an option to sleep outside under the stars. Which is all wonderful! But, the place is very sterile - my husbands comment was it lacks a woman's touch. For example a nice pool but no sun loungers or even chairs to sit on around it. The sleeping bags given to sleep outside couldn't zip close... Read more

Wow, wow, wow!Jon & Monique have an amazing lodge, to which the lovely Ronel has been brought in to assist. Her people skills are wonderful and she makes you feel at home. The accommodation was great, awesome shower with loads of hot water! The food, where to begin, the attention to detail and 3 course meals leave you very salient at the end of the day.We would not hesitate to go back to Agama.... Read more
