The small town of Sabie is right on Mpumalanga’s Panorama Route, which means it’s in the middle of some fabulous scenery, surrounded by waterfalls, forests and gorgeous views.
There are great mountain biking trails in the forests near the town, you could do an abseil down the Sabie Waterfall, go kloofing (canyoning) in the Mac Mac River, play a round of golf at the Sabie River Sun, or go for a walk.

Sabie is at one end of the long, steep, Long Tom Pass, which is fun in a car and challenging on a bicycle (uphill, anyway). It also has some great views.

Sabie is close to the Kruger National Park, so it’s a good place to base yourself for a few days of game viewing.

Sabie is a pretty little town with a lovely Herbert Baker-designed cathedral, a pleasant square and – in case you decide to ride in – a hitching rail outside the bank.

Courtesy and warmth
I visited Sabie in December and was very much impressed by the organisation and the set up there. One aspect that needs attention more, is the people factor. I realised that the people are friendly but they can do more than that. Smiling faces and warmth really has a lasting impact. on visiting people. This I say of the workers and the Management of some Lodges. Courses on Courtesy across the entertaining , and Restaurants world will really help!I love the place, and will be back.

Seeking Sabie
Driving from Hazyview, along the R536, you will soon come across Sabie. Sabie is also a good route through to Nelspruit or Graskop. Within the town itself, travellers may expect more than a couple of good eateries in plain sight with little explanation or further direction needed! A popular throughway, Sabie makes an excellent rest stop en route to the key Panorama viewpoints such as God's Window and The Blyde river Canyon which are the other side of Graskop. The tourist information in the centre of the Spar plaza may assist visitors with extra activities but the sign posts dotted along the...

Sabie
Beautiful scenery, friendly people but the municipality is not very good: there are potholes and the place looking a bit sad. We love Sabie and will definitely be back. The House prices are way to high for the properties, some in poor shape

Beautiful Sabie, but beware...
Sabie is in a beautiful part of the world, with very scenic and interesting places to visit in Sabie and surrounding areas. Sabie is well positioned to reach most of the tourist spots such as the many waterfalls, the Kruger Park etc..However, I was very disappointed with the condition of the roads to and from most tourist spots, which is unfortunate, as it makes travel at night extremely dangerous, and potentially costly as damage to your vehicle is a real possibility.

Sabie
At first glance you would be forgiven for thinking that Sabie is a "one horse town". However, once you start looking - really looking - you'll see just how wrong you are! There are some really good restaurants, the best biltong I've ever tasted (from the little shop by the BP garage) sold by the sweetest old lady. The bakery at the same BP garage sells the most divine freshly baked bread for R5.00 a loaf!! Seriously!!The 2 ladies who work at the Curio shop and bookshop next to the Woodsman restaurant were so friendly that we ended up sitting there for a couple of hours chatting. No! Don't...

Pure Relaxation!
We absolutely love Sabie! We went there for our honeymoon and then for a family vacation and we enjoyed it tremendously. Our son loved the waterfalls. It's a place where you can breath again, away from the hustle and bustle of the city life! If you are looking to relax completely and forget about everything, Sabie is the place to go!
