Shanzu Town
Shanzu is not as bad as Mtwapa and I would therefore say it does not affect Nightingale apartment since this is located some km away from Shanzu.Although its very normal for Mombasa as a whole to be untidy, Shanzu is alright. at least in middle. But I like very much where nightingale is located.

Bamburi Beach, Mombasa, Kenya
Bamburi Beach and the surrounding area is the most popular beach in Mombasa, there is not only the ocean, coral gardens and marine park. There are great shopping centers, beach bars, International Hotels, Cuisine to suite everyone's choice, From African Buffets to Italian, Chinese and Indian Restaurants. The night life is also good with with lots of local color and discos. It also has a Golf course nearby, the world famous Haller Park, Go Kart racing, bike riding center et al.

A deep sense of history
Although this bustling tropical city appears jaded and a bit grimy, it doesn’t lack in charm. Feel the city's heartbeat in the Old Town and Fort Jesus, a national monument to Mombasa's complex, bloody history. An intricate network of narrow lanes, mosques and interesting old houses line the dhow harbour. Most tourists stay out of the city in the North or South beach hotels.

Mombasa - Kenya
My family and I stayed for 7 days and we really had the best time.We went deep sea snorkeling, the Old town, Fort Jesus. We also visited the cultural village (Ngomongo) where we learned of their different tribes, their beliefs and values. The streets are so congested and the taxis (boda-boda) are bikes and they just drive anyhow with no helmets. It was just another eye-opening experience for us and would definitely go back someday.
