Flamingo Bay Water Lodge is built on stilts in the crystal clear waters of the warm Indian Ocean. This eco-paradise is home to flocks of flamingos, tropical fish and the very rare dugong.
Our luxury Water Chalets are spacious and well appointed with balconies, sliding doors and air-conditioning. The comfortable lounge allows one to relax in a peaceful environment while enjoying a drink or light snack. A spacious air-conditioned conference centre seats 60 guests comfortably.
The chalets and furniture are constructed from beautiful local hardwoods and each chalet is situated on stilts in the crystal clear tidal waters of Inhambane Bay. Sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling and boating may be enjoyed directly from each chalet. The main building and chalets are connected by wooden walkways where golf carts are available to ferry guests. The main building can also be accessed from the land and is fronted by the tidal waters of the bay. A secure parking area is available for guests’ vehicles.
The well-positioned restaurant overlooks the Barra Estuary and offers scrumptious meals with whatever seafood has been caught locally. We regularly have fresh prawns, crab and calamari. For those non-seafood lovers, there is always another choice such as a meat or chicken dish.
The sunsets at Flamingo are nothing less that breathtaking. This lodge is unique and the only one of its kind in Africa. Flamingo Bay prides itself in having an undisturbed eco-setting that is peaceful and pristine, and we endeavour to keep it this way. This allows guests to appreciate the peacefulness, elegance and romance of this tropical getaway.
