Sorry to say, but I had a horrific 2 days there.
Dogs barking right outside your door in the passage at night,
Parties till midnight, in dining room, 5meters from your room!!
No rest.
Sorry but if you need some privacy and rest, be warned- DO NOT GO to Fat Ponys!!!!!!!

My partner and I stayed at the Fat Pony for 3 days from 30 Dec 2015 to 2 Jan 2016.
We were not very happy or satisfied with the establishment. The room and bathroom was clean (although this can not be said for the kitchen and communal areas). Our room did not have a key and when we enquired about this (after giving the owners time to first look for the key like they said they were doing),we were very non-chalantly told that there is no room key and that the previous people must have left with it. So for our entire stay,we had to leave our room open when we left and at night. Granted nothing was stolen, but still no privacy.
The bathroom shower and toilet were also clogged up. We dis not bother to even report this, since the issue with our room key was just dismissed by the owners. They also didn't even check up on us once to ask whether everything was fine.
Friendly horses and dogs.

We would like to thank Lorna and everyone at the Fat Pony Back Packers for a wonderful stay and for making us feel so at home Lorna your laugh is so contagious and Alan for letting me use the internet to keep up to date on my email and for all the help in our directions when we did not know how to get somewhere. I really don't know where the fat pony was but we all enjoyed ourselves especially Petrus my son, I think he wishes he was back there. Once again many, many thanks for everything. regards Sue and family.
So friendly

We stayed at the Fat Pony with some friends and had a fun time. On arrival, we were helped by one of the riders and directed to check-in. As we walked into the kitchen, we were greeted by a girl using the oven to bake treats. The room was cool and the campsite a large lawn. The outdoor braai area is great for entertainment and protected from the sun by a huge shady tree. My friends say they can tick off camping in Kraaifontein from their bucket list. The establishment is actually surrounded by large plots and farms and located in Joostenbergvlakte. They have a great communal area and feature movie entertainment and music from time to time. We had a great stay and recommend it if you are looking for a laid-back and super friendly place to stay.
