Amazingly peaceful setting
Miranda Wilson - Sunday, 03 September 2023
We stayed in the 1-bedroom Sohbengu unit which was nestled in the bush far away from the lodge. The bird life is amazing and we saw so much just strolling along the boardwalk to the lodge/restaurant. Great birding activities lile the Wetlands drive to so as well. The food at the restaurant is simple and well prepared and very enjoyable but the staff could benefit from a barista training course perhaps. The staff were extremely accomodating and tried hard to meet any requests we made. Just a note that the 1 bedroom units share a wall with neighbours and although you can't see the neighbours, there is a bit of noise. As with many bushveld lodges, the monkeys cause problems so don't leave windows open or food lying around. We can't wait to go back soon!

Janine Sears, South Africa - Wednesday, 24 August 2016
The unfortunate drought has a major impact on the beauty of the location. when the lake fills up again it will be a fantastic destination.
The food is excellent, the accommodation is good and the cost of refreshments very reasonable.
A very peaceful getaway!
The benchmark in your price bracket!
Werner de Lange, South Africa - Monday, 11 July 2016

Well done guys. You are setting the benchmark on you price category at the moment. Great service and well trained staff.

Compared to 3 other accom offerings in the area, your customer service came out tops!

Cal recommend to fellow Durbanites!

Fantastic value for money

Nibble Lodge really impressed me with the great service and food menu. This was our third stay there and every time its been better and better. The staff are so friendly and always helpful and pleasant as if you were the most important customer in the resort. The food was great and the puddings were devine.
I cannot recommend a better place than this to have a great stay. I can see why they are receiving all the awards
Oh I almost  Lucky and the quad bike rides a real thrill through the trails to the fossils.
Thanks Sarel and Melanie

We had a fantastic time at Nibela for our anniversary.  The honeymoon suite is beautiful and has a spectacular view.  A special thanks to Sarel who explained to us where to find the very special Rosy-throated  Longclaw and what a sighting it was!  Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer!
Celebrating Life

It is the best place to relax and have fun away from the city life and into the arms of nature's best! the staff are warm and welcoming we really felt like kings and queens. The catering was beyond my expectations, I love my food! Even though we were a bit nervous about bumping into animals such as the hippo and leopard we would have liked to see more animals. the boat ride and trail walks were relaxing and fun-filled!
Excellent!

The perfect break-away! Beautiful surroundings, accommodation is stunning, the food is delicious, the staff is friendly - perfect. The guides are very knowledgeable – ask for “Lucky”, he is great! We'll be back in the near future!!!
Most enjoyable

Accommodation very comfortable, food really good and an ideal setting - pity about the dreadful road to get there and back again.
Tranquility at a cost
Geoff Hodges, South Africa - Tuesday, 29 May 2012
Far from the maddening crowds it is - tranquil and peaceful. Ideal if you want to 'get away from it all'. The other side of the coin is that it is a 75 min drive to Hluhluwe Game Park, 45 min of which is on rough gravel roads. The lodges are spacious and comfortable, but are in need of some TLC and freshenning up. Not all have open views of the lake - ask for this if its important to you. Food is great and staff are very friendly.
I had a good time

Very comfortable accommodation, relaxed atmosphere, good service and tasty food. All in all, great value for money.
Simply stunning, as nature intended it to be!
Beverley Halck, South Africa - Monday, 07 November 2011
The accmmodation is situated in stunning surroundings and obviously every care has been taken to build the lodge in and around nature and not to destroy the natural habit in anyway. The view from our cabin was breathtaking and we were able to do exactly what we came to do, relax! We were totally isolated from the next cabin, but welcomed the dining area at Breakfast & Dinner. The staff are friendly, helpful and there to take care of you. An absolute must when you want to escape from the maddening crowd at very affordable rates! We will be back.
A very nice stay
Josine Middel, South Africa - Friday, 14 October 2011
We had a very nice stay. Although it is a 3 Star lodge, you are treated with 5 Star treatment. Would like to go back.
Fantastic

Nibela Lake Lodge by Dream Resorts
Craving a low-key holiday that’s slightly off the beaten track? Surrounded by KwaZulu-Natal’s iSimangaliso Wetlands Park near Hluhluwe, Nibela Lake Lodge is ideally located to deliver a nature-based holiday with a difference for the whole family.

Few lodges can say that they are located on the cusp of a World Heritage Site. This area is blessed by the waters of Lake St. Lucia, an estuarine lake system which sustains an abundance of birds and wildlife which proves that you don't have to make your way to the Kruger to see it all.

Nibela Lake Lodge is easily accessible from Durban. The relaxing drive to the resort is part of the experience as you pass stunning coastal views and waving isiZulu children from the roadside villages.

Once you arrive, you’ll be rewarded with your own private haven in beautifully appointed timber chalets with private balconies and lakeside views, not to mention the background cheer of birds from the surrounding canopy of trees.

The main lodge offers an outdoor viewing deck, an ideal spot for sundowners served just before dinner at our Lakeview Restaurant. Our menu offers continental breakfasts, three-course dinners and comfort food like pizzas and crispy chips. Our colourful milkshakes are a hit with the kids, while our ice-cold beers keep our older guests refreshed and relaxed.

Spend time venturing out to explore the surrounding area of iSimangaliso. Go walking, fishing, diving, biking, birding or picnicking. Enjoy game viewing on a day trip to Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Park, or kick back near the pool and catch up on some good old-fashioned relaxation.
