Sondela with our grandsons
John Freer, South Africa - 09 September 2012
Our booking had been in the chalets, but a run-away fire had burnt them down over the week-end. So our booking had been transferred to a very comfortable Makhato House. The boys enjoyed the friendliness of the game, feeding Nyala by hand. The facilities of farmyard, swimming and booking arrangements for game drives etc. around the reception area were good with pub and pub food up to 16.30. Apart from the Monday when a good buffet dinner was served between 17.30 and 19.00, there were no restaurant facilities on offer. Enjoyable, but the weather let us down for half the period.

It was a wonderful experience. The house that we stayed in (Makhato 40)was very private and in a immaculate condition. Surrounded by the bush is so peaceful and we could become one with nature. Even the staff were great. We will definitely visit Sondela on a regular basis. The cherry on the cake was the group of workers at the gate cleaning you car before you travelled home.
Very pleasant.

Really enjoyed the stay at Sondela, kids enjoyed the swimming pool, putt putt, archery and quad biking - the farmyard is a real treat, especially if you want to get the city feeling out of your system.

The facilities were great. Our three year old son really enjoyed it as there were plenty for him to do.
