The friendly staff

The room was not what I had booked (it was much smaller), the garden was unkept, there was no pool table as shown in the pictures, there was construction being done in our presence, rabble was all over, the swimming pool was dirty. We had to ask for the braai stand before it could be cleaned.

It meets expectations for a very affordable backpackers. We paid a bit extra for the family room, which had private patio opening out into garden. Enjoyed a few drinks on the main verandah and walked to nearby restaurants and bars for dinner, drinks and New year festivities.
Very convenient, a little old looking and some broken furnishings, but clean, comfortable and the family room was spacious.

This accommodation was in the perfect area for us meaning less than 10 min travel time in the morning. Clean and mostly comfortable. Our bathroom was TINY but there are family rooms with bigger bathrooms and I think that would have made a huge difference. Could also have used some storage or space or cupboards. Staff were really wonderful. Pool was a bonus. We used the movable braai outside.

Located in the trendy area of Emmarentia, In other words, they have been there and done it before, so you know they have everything sussed. Test their dedication from the moment you land. Yup, just put yourself in their hands. After all, they book airport pick ups and drop offs, sight-seeing in Johannesburg and tours to Soweto without even blinking an eye. Moving further afield to Pilanesberg, the Cradle of Mankind and Sun City won’t be any more of a deal. And safaris to the Kruger and car hire are a walk in the park.
When you have finished your day you can lounge around the large garden listening to the hadidas birds honking their way homewards or prep yourself for a theme night in the buzzy bar. The Johannesburg Botanical Gardens, Mark's Park Sports Grounds and the Emmarentia Dam are at the end of the road and regular concerts with international and local bands take place here. There are also loads of local cafés, bars and clubs within easy reach and if there’s one thing that they excel at in Egoli, it’s testing the limits of a party.
