Outstanding and interesting
Leon Tromp, South Africa - 22 August 2016
It was an experience to see all the old vehicles and have meals between them. The room is spacious. Beautiful part of Namibia.
Loved it!

The experience was wonderful. there is such a lovely "vibe" about the place and everyone i very helpful. i only have one criticism - if one can call it that - and that was that the rooms did not have a fridge which is a must to keep water and other essentials cool in the heat. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and I'd recommend the Canyon Roadhouse.
An oasis in the desert

I recommend Canyon Roadhouse. It looks very cool. Due to its very many plants and flowers it attracts beautiful birds which are wonderful to watch, whilst relaxing by the pool or on the terrace outside the restaurant.
There is an information centre next to the restaurant. We were informed that they do not have horse riding trips anymore (the information needs updating online). They do have a 4 day mule ride though.
Our bedroom was clean and well presented. It came with aircon, tea making facilities and an en-suite bathroom.
The main restaurant area had free wifi, and served a buffet breakfast. We didn't eat lunch there (as we were away from the Roadhouse during the day) but we ate dinner there. There was a choice of food including a vegetarian option. The food was nice and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Interesting to say the least

Our accommodation was very adequate, clean and spacious. The food was OK. Staff were friendly. Decor was absolutely fascinating and reminicent of years gone by. Well worth a visit and stay over.
Good place for a night
Carlo Giese, Denmark - 25 June 2014
We intended to stay for two nights, but the canyon was just a day activity and so we opted for the opportunity to switch to another lodge from the same company. The roadhouse is quite touristy, but unique in interior. Would recommend the place for a sleepover.
Desert experience

What a surprise!! Here in the middle of nothing pops up this oasis!! Cold beer nice food and beautiful sunsets. I went 2012 to Las Vegas and what happen now, I woke up in a air conditioned nice and cool room open the curtain and there I am in the same desert as the Grand canyon!! It was amazing to overnight with the Roadhouse in Namibia.
Unique place

We stayed here for one night. A very nice, quirkily decorated, place to stay. We had a very clean and comfortable room. The food was very good. The pool was nice and clean and a good way to cool off on a what was a very hot day. The only thing I think could have been better was the organisation of things. When we arrived they had no record of our booking although eventually they acknowledged we had booked it. Our waitress was new and she got our order wrong. The house red wine was served at room temperature, the only problem being that room temperature was hot. Luckily the duty Manager was there on hand to put things right, but we couldn't help thinking that the staff could have been better trained. Although our room was air-conditioned the public area was not. On the day we were there the outside temperature was 50 degrees centigrade, making the public areas exceedingly warm. The staff were also complaining about the heat they had to work in. The public areas should be air-conditioned. All in all a very pleasant stay, but the staff need better training. This was the most expensive place we stayed in during our recent trip to Namibia but it certainly wasn't the best. I think value for money was average.
To die for

The camping facilities were of the better ones and the atmosphere and heat is to die for.

Creative decor, friendly staff and comfortably furnished rooms near the Fish River Canyon! Had a lovely stay! Food was great, the oryx steak is a must!
Canon Roadhouse

What a lovely welcome received from all staff, exepcially their receptionist Maylene. A wounderful experience and a great place to end ones Jorney in Namibia, esecially if you are into old memorabilia. Concerns were address promptly by their untiring manager Agnes who always had time to chat to all guests and was ever present.

For a first stop on a first trip to Namibia, this was a great place to stay. The old vehicles around the property - even reception was a converted lorry - made for fascinating and unique surroundings and the staff were all helpful attentive and pleasant. For my husband's 72nd birthday, there were fresh flowers on the breakfast table and a birthday cake presented by a group of staff singing at dinner, which made the day. We would recommend this place as a 'must'!

Excellent place and location, great people and helpful staff, excellent management, beautiful large and clean rooms, wonderful breakfast and restaurant. We stayed there with our parents and children and loved it! The best part of the whole journey in Namibia. 100% recommended! Thank you.

An oasis in the desert
Suzanne van der Merwe, South Africa - 28 December 2010
What a truly amazing place! After driving for hours in the desert, we stumbled across this absolute gem. We both enjoyed a refreshing swim in their swimming pool and were mesmerized by all the old cars and memorabilia. Food was excellent, staff very helpful and accommodation was very clean. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone. Another bonus was the closeness to the main viewing point of the Fish River canyon.

An all round enjoyable experience - the best of the holiday.

Canyon Roadhouse
Due to its elaborate décor Canyon Roadhouse has almost acquired cult status in Namibia: the good old days of the auto-mobile are celebrated with great attention to detail.

Canyon Roadhouse, located just 14 km from the main gate to the main viewing point at the Fish River Canyon, offers 20 very neat en-suite rooms, an à la carte restaurant with terrace, a bar, a petrol station and an information centre. Take a refreshing dip into the pool or enjoy a slice of our legendary Amarula cheesecake. For alfresco fans there are beautiful camping sites which allow for privacy.
