Peaceful Sanctuary
Nokwanda Silingile - Saturday, 13 August 2022
Loved everything about our stay. Place is peaceful & quiet. Veiws are breath-taking, not to mention the stunning surroundings of nature. Acorn cottage is a beautiful sanctuary perfect for couples wanting some quiet time. The decor is beautiful & somewhat homey. Housekeeper was amazing and helpful. The cottage is stacked with all the necessary amenities for self catering. The TV picture quality was not great. Please check the ceiling roof corner against the wall from the bedroom under the curtain. Sand seems to drizzle through that space onto the carpet. This makes a scary sound especially at night which is very disturbing. I'm sure this can be fixed easily. Thank you to Abbi & team. We had a wonderful time away from home.
Amazing! Beautiful!

What a place. Absolute luxury in a gorgeous setting. The finishings and detail in the room were amazing. They thought of everything. The bed and linen as comfortable as you can get with the bathroom being stylish, tranquil and equipped with the best amenities and toiletries. The hospitality was 100% - thanks Michelle. Breakfast was perfectly cooked and well organized and presented. The surroundings are breathtaking and the peace and quiet unrivaled. I will definitely recommend it. 100% for Bovlei Valley Retreat. One night was too short!
A Lttle Bit of Heaven

Having driven so many dusty miles to arrive and be welcomed and pampered in such beautiful surroundings could not have been better. We only wished we had more time there. The room was fabulous. It is a definite must for next time.
Peace in the valley

A wonderful setting in the heart of the country, yet only minutes from a large town (Paarl)

A wonderful opportunity to chill out, or watch wine being made in their own Winery

The owners and staff of this establishment cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable

The only downside is the dining room is large and during our stay was very empty (which was a shame as the food is excellent)
Wonderful establishment

My husband and I stayed at Bovlie Valley Retreat for two nights on 12 November 2007. We were extremely pleased to see such lovely surroundings. It is a very peaceful and relaxing place and the afternoon tea and home made scones that were served in the garden, which is included in the price, was delicious. What a lovely added touch. Abbi and Lee, the owners, make you so welcome. Abbi is a good cook and made us a lovely evening meal on the first night. The main property is beautiful and consists of the dining room, open plan kitchen and a lovely terrace which enables you to eat outside, weather permitting. The only reason I didnt give the establishment 5 stars was because I thought the bathrooms could have been built to a higher standard. I am not keen on pine furniture and think that with an upgrade in the bathrooms, then Bovlie would be 5 stars. The surrounding area has wonderful views of the mountains and I highly recommend a visit.
Peace and Tranquility at Bovlei
Mrs Bisschops - Thursday, 14 September 2006
Bovlei Valley Retreat is set in the most peaceful and tranquil area imaginable. Surrounded by lavender fields and vineyards, the beautifully maintained Cape Dutch house and converted stables stand in stark contrast to the mountains. The reception is friendly while not being smothering. Dinner was served in the restaurant in the main house. I would have preferred to have been able to choose a meal from a menu, but, possibly since we were the only guests, we were offered a single choice of meal. This was well prepared, but being the only guests, we felt a little overwhelmed by the large dining room and would have preferred a cosy corner. Breakfast was the best - served outside on the lawn next to the lavender fields and was a veritable feast! We would definitely go back there and would highly recommend it to anyone.
