FRIENDLY STAFF, CLEANLINESS, LOCATION

THIS WAS MY 2ND STAY. ALWAYS FRIENDLY STAFF, NEAT AND CLEAN. WE JUST HAD BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THE GUEST HOUSE FLOORS THAT WERE VERY SLIPPERY. ONE OF OUR FRIENDS SLIPPED ON THE STAIRCASE AND BRUCED HIS ARM. BUT OTHER THAN THAT WAS NO PROBLEMS.
All fine

The duration of my stay was very nice, and it would be a place to suggest to people who need accommodation in the area.
Highly recommended stay in Pretoria

I only stayed at Muckleneuk Guest House but I enjoyed my stay so much I will become a regular. Suzette is the new manager and went out of her way to look after my needs and I can be a difficult customer. :) The breakfast was out of this world. It is the full Monty. To anyone visiting Pretoria you must give Muckleneuk Guest House a try. Highly recommended guest house accommodation with great service.
Disappointed

I am not sure how the rating on guest houses are done but I am sure that 4 or 5 stars for this one is ridiculous. A trailer was parked slap-bang in front of our bedroom with various pices of steel lying against the wall. There is no aircon, no soap, selected available DStv channels pathetic. Breakfast poor. I paid for two nights stayed one and left.
Disappointment

In the absence of the owner, who was overseas, we were met by a female employee who made us welcome. Having travelled 600kms to our destination, we were clearly tired, and was relieved to hear that the guest house would provide an evening meal. we duly ordered 2 meals from the menu provided, at an additional cost of R180.00, however, when entering the dining room, both meals were sitting on the table covered with cling film and stone cold, with the starter omitted. From conversation held with the stand-in helper, it became apparent the food was brought in from outside e.g. takeaway. We requested the food be heated following which it was unpallatable. The starter arrived about half an hour later by which time we were past wanting food. We had arranged for a 7:30 am breakfast the following day, but owing to time restraints, we arrived in the dining room half an hour earlier. We were not offered any choices, upon which 2 plates of fried food were presented. It was obvious that this food had been prepared much earlier given the state of the it. Luke warm and dry. Another point was that the bed linen had not been ironed. In all a very disappointing stay considering it has a 4 star rating.
