A short escape from the urban life
Maksim Bureev - Thursday, 02 March 2017
I booked this hotel for the 3rd time. And every next time the impression became worse and worse. 1. The assigned room no 11 appeared to be with a broken door, which stuck in it's frame when closed. It was impossible to open it from inside without somebody being strong enough assisting you from outside. What do you think about fire safety? We were offered another room, but in two hours other guests cried from the window of room 11 asking somebody to help them to open the door. It is an IRRESPONCIBLE behaviour of hotel staff. 2. The bedsheet in our new room 12 appeared to be very tired, with unwashable spots and torn in several places. Some of the pillow-cases were almost grey of their age. The wall near the left side-bed was spotted with something looking extremely unattractive. 3. At the buffet dinner at the arrival day we ate something, what caused for ALL OF US (4 people, in two rooms) heavy stomach upset or even worse, what lasted 3 next days. Later we could suggext that the kudu meat was spoiled, but still served for guests' dinner. It was AWFUL!!! 4. It is less important on the previous background, but still... We were two couples and we booked two rooms for the same price. We got one spacious room with AC, outdoor shower, and another one was much smaller, with no AC, no outdoor shower, with cupboard in the bathroom. Do you think that these two absolutely different rooms should cost the same price? STRANGE. And 5. Disregards the quality of the hotel service visibly went down during the last year, the price went up. You may think that it is OK, if your target client is a one-night foreigner. But it is in all cases a sign of your disrespect to the clients. Very sad impression...

Our stay was nice

Our stay was nice as we spent our last 3 days of 23 days of holidays there. However we should state that staff was not always very friendly at the reception desk. They should make you feel more welcome when you arrive. Then the cleaning lady did not shut the door properly so she left our door constantly open and unlocked. I should have mentioned this, but I failed to do so. Room we had with a bath is very spacious and very comfortable with lots of tv-nets, hairdryer, lots of convenience, nice bath as well as a separate shower.
Highly recommended

Excellent. Please put phones in rooms to prevent long walk to reception.
Superb stay!

Can highly recommend Kedar for friendliness, lovely cosy chalets, good buffets, and a good location for Pilanesberg. By far the best accommodation option close to Pilanesberg. Oh, and the spa was 5 star, great setting by the lake, felt a new person afterwards!

We really enjoyed our stay and Kedar Country Hotel, the rooms were lovely and the staff extremely friendly. We did however have a problem when our breakfast packs for our game drive were not delivered as promised by reception. We brought this to the managers attention who handled the situation in a polite professional manner and offered us a free bottle of wine for the inconvenience.
Very good

We had a lovely stay at Kedar Country lodge. The children think it was the best hotel we had on our South African tour. The buffet dinners were excellent and there was always something for everyone.

Andrew Morkel, South Africa - Monday, 13 August 2007
We had a lovely stay, except for the loud road noise. A gravel road runs directly behind some of the chalets - with trucks and cars going through the night.
Excellent
