This was our second stay. It is a nice  place with good views over the mountains, a very  friendly hostess and an excellent breakfast.

A lovely Gem in peaceful, beautiful surroundings. Marojean a lovely hostess, helpful with suggestions to enhance our stay and onward journey. The cottage, No 4 Hendrik a' n  Huisje, with its attention to details, was cosy and inviting where we enjoyed a peaceful, restful sleep. Only sorry our stay was so short. We will most certainly return again.

We were greeted very friendly and got tips for our stay. The room was beautifully furnished , a bit dark -but it was pleasantly in the hot day. The breakfast was plentiful and lovingly prepared.

We had a very pleasant stay at the lodge.  Everything we needed was there, the room was clean and tidy and the breakfast was exceptional.  Lovely views of the surrounding farms and mountain ranges and in close proximity of many tourist attractions.  We would recommend the place to anyone.

We had the pleasure of staying at Rooderandt on our holiday in South Africa. Marojéan did so much to make our stay so enjoyable. Room was perfect, and the breakfast was out of this world. I have already recommended this lodge to all my family who are looking to travel thorugh the Cape. Thank you.

This place was a very pleasant surprise. Our stay was very short but we enjoyed every moment. The host cares a lot about her guests and really makes you feel at home. She had very useful ideas of where to go for dinner and sight seeing. The breakfast was very delicious. We will go back.

We really enjoyed our sleepover. Marojean arranged for us to eat out at a beautiful lodge on the 31/12/2010 when we didn't know were to go as everything was fully booked. We will go back again.
Snug little hide away

Mita se huise was a perfect little snug hide away. Cozy, clean, comfortable. The unexpected thunder shower and sound of rain on the thatch roof was just an added bonus.

We arrived a little early and our friendly hostess welcomed us and showed us to our cottage. We were impressed immediately with the way everything had been thought out and by the charm of the cottage. It was absolutely beautiful. Marajéan then asked us our plans for the rest of the day and made suggestions of where to go and where to have supper. I noticed that the duvet was feather down and as I am asthmatic, I called up to Marajéan and she quickly remedied the situation with a hollow fibre duvet. Breakfast was delicious and we could take our time with it. All in all, I can't say I thought "oh such and such would be nice" at any time. Marajéan is a very friendly and gracious hostess

Marojean and JP are wonderful hosts (as are their two adorable terriers JR and Billy). The staff are friendly and very helpful, the rooms are immaculate and the guest house is conveniently located for many local attractions.

BED AND BREAKFAST! Rooderandt Hillside Lodge is situated in the picturesque Schoemanshoek Valley, 11 km outside Oudtshoorn en-route to the Cango Caves. Surrounded by the enchanting Swartberg Mountain Range. Rooderandt’s raised location offers a spectacular view across the valley and is abundant with indigenous fauna, flora and bird life on its 3.5 hectares of unspoilt land. It is definitely unique with its mixture of nature, culture, 19th century Old World charm and true Klein Karoo hospitality. The house is a trove of African culture and is stylishly decorated with attention to detail, and furnished throughout with genuine antiques, complimenting a true South African atmosphere. Here décor is character, stretching far back into history with its popular beam reed ceilings, an original 1897 Bolinder cast iron stove and the manor's imposing front door, originally from a 17th century hunting lodge of Simon van der Stel. The four private cottages combine the old and the new. Each one is individually decorated with genuine antique furniture, 19th century stoves and fireplaces combined with the convenience of air-conditioning. Each cottage is equipped with a spacious private bathroom and has a patio offering unsurpassed views across the valley. The Honeymoon Suite is perfect for a romantic getaway as it is stylish, spacious, luxurious, warm and comfortable. It has a private entrance, plunge pool and private garden.Another major advantage of staying at Rooderandt Hillside Lodge is the fact that it is situated in the heartland of the area’s attractions, making it an ideal location from which to explore the world-famous Cango Caves, ostrich show farms, wildlife farms and a vast number of other tourist attractions.
