Absolutely lovely, tranquil place to stayover...close to Cango Caves and the town.

We had a lovely stay at Rooderandt, friendly hosts, great breakfast.

Very nice accommodation. Quaint and rustic. Lovely garden and great host. Amazing views from the lodge over the valley.

We recently spent two nights at Rooderandt Hillside Lodge, it was something totally different, and a real getaway.
With very comfortable bed, small lounge area with a lovely fireplace which we used both nights. The views down the valley were wonderful which you can see from your huge balcony area.
The hostess was very friendly and gave us a huge farmhouse breakfast both mornings. We would recommend, this as a stop over to anyone.

This was our second stay. It is a nice  place with good views over the mountains, a very  friendly hostess and an excellent breakfast.

A lovely Gem in peaceful, beautiful surroundings. Marojean a lovely hostess, helpful with suggestions to enhance our stay and onward journey. The cottage, No 4 Hendrik a' n  Huisje, with its attention to details, was cosy and inviting where we enjoyed a peaceful, restful sleep. Only sorry our stay was so short. We will most certainly return again.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und bekamen Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt. Das Zimmer war liebevoll eingerichtet, etwas dunkel - was aber bei dem heißen Tag 40°C angenehm war. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und liebevoll zubereitet.

We had a very pleasant stay at the lodge.  Everything we needed was there, the room was clean and tidy and the breakfast was exceptional.  Lovely views of the surrounding farms and mountain ranges and in close proximity of many tourist attractions.  We would recommend the place to anyone.

We found our room pre-heated on a chilly afternoon, and had an equally warm welcome from our hostess Marojean. The room was cosy and well equipped; everything was just as described and pictured on the website. After an excellent breakfast next morning, Marojean offered thoughtful, useful advice on what to do and see. The lodge offers superb views in a country setting, but is also conveniently close to to the town and its good restaurants. We hope to return, and warmly recommend this friendly lodge.

Rooderandt was absolutely perfect. The cottage is stunning and the people are wonderful. We had an issue with hot water but that was sorted out very quickly so it wasnt a problem. The Breakfast the next morning was also delicious! I will be back.

We had a wonderful time in Miesa se Huisie. Unfortenatly we only booked for two nights. We have to come back another time. And we will!

Friendly, clean and comfortable.

The hosts were really friendly and welcoming. We were fed a delicious breakfast with freshly made bread - that was the highlight. For those not used to bathing in tubs, you should specify that youd like a room with a shower stall - really unexpected. Otherwise, beautiful place - bound to be a good stay.

This place was a very pleasant surprise. Our stay was very short but we enjoyed every moment. The host cares a lot about her guests and really makes you feel at home. She had very useful ideas of where to go for dinner and sight seeing. The breakfast was very delicious. We will go back.

We really enjoyed our sleepover. Marojean arranged for us to eat out at a beautiful lodge on the 31/12/2010 when we didn't know were to go as everything was fully booked. We will go back again.

Mita se huise was a perfect little snug hide away. Cozy, clean, comfortable. The unexpected thunder shower and sound of rain on the thatch roof was just an added bonus.

Rooderandt Hillside Lodge was a lovely place to stay at during our 3 day visit to Oudtshoorn. The owner was very friendly and the accommodation was very cosy, neat and clean. Breakfast was good and very tasty. We would definitely recommend this Lodge to friends and family and would stay there again if we were ever in the area. Fantastic view over the mountains, near an Ostrich Farm and not far from the Cango Caves. It was a great experience!

Great place! We stayed in Hendrik zn huisje and it was very cosy. Even with all the modern amenities you still felt as if you were back in the good old days! JP and Marojean are very good hosts.

We arrived a little early and our friendly hostess welcomed us and showed us to our cottage. We were impressed immediately with the way everything had been thought out and by the charm of the cottage. It was absolutely beautiful. Marajéan then asked us our plans for the rest of the day and made suggestions of where to go and where to have supper. I noticed that the duvet was feather down and as I am asthmatic, I called up to Marajéan and she quickly remedied the situation with a hollow fibre duvet. Breakfast was delicious and we could take our time with it. All in all, I can't say I thought "oh such and such would be nice" at any time. Marajéan is a very friendly and gracious hostess

Lovely little room outside the main "famhouse". Neat, clean, cosy. Marojean and JP were very friendly and helpful. Made us feel right at home. Breakfast was outstanding !!

Marojean and JP are wonderful hosts (as are their two adorable terriers JR and Billy). The staff are friendly and very helpful, the rooms are immaculate and the guest house is conveniently located for many local attractions.

I was late in making my booking to go to the KKNK in Oudtshoorn. I went onto the RoomsForAfrica website and I must have enquired at about 20 different places for accommodation without success. When Rooderandt Hillside Lodge responded, I was very exited, only to notice later that they only have the honeymoon suite available.
At first I was a bit sceptical as to how I will explain to my wife why I got the honeymoon suite, so I took her with. With the streets being closed in Oudtshoorn we got terribly lost on our way there. But what a pleasant surprise when we finally got there. Being just outside of Oudtshoorn in the country. Our hosts were the most wonderful, warm people we have met in a long time. The room was out of this world, with excellent service. I can sincerely recommend Rooderandt Hillside Lodge to any one who wants to have a wonderful time away from home.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely, quaint cottage - especially sitting in front of the fireplace, sipping sherry.
