Had the best time ever. The staff were excellent and the food divine. There was nothing to want for. Would definitely recommend bayete to anyone who's looking for a fabulous getaway. The game drive was out of this world and we had a friendly, fun-loving guide named Kyle.


Bayete Zulu Boutique Lodge
Come and share the dream that we call Bayete that is indeed a place where special things happen. This Lodge is perfect for your Safari Vacation. Bought as a farm back in December 1999, this magnificent piece of Zululand has been lovingly rehabilitated to its former glory. Gone are the cattle fences, overgrazed lands and chili-fields. In their place is what we consider to be one of the most highly stocked and ecologically balanced game reserves in northern Zululand.

Our Lodge consists of eight colonial luxury rooms, all en-suite, with a spacious sunken baths, open showers and separate toilet. Each individually decorated room has a top quality twin beds with a double fold-out ottoman. All our rooms are equipped with mosquito nets, air-conditioning, ceiling fans and a mini bar that is well stocked with a selection of beverages and light snacks. For your convenience, in-room safes are provided for the safekeeping of all cash, travel documents and other such articles.

The whole family can sink into our couches, the perfect place to laze around in the afternoon before heading off to a sundown safari.There’s the formal lounge, complete with a fully stocked wine cellar. Choose from a range of imported cigars or warm yourself with a night cap next to the cosy fireplace. After a game drive, you can relax in our revitalising rimflow pool, while our staff prepare cocktails for your enjoyment.

You can join us for dinner under the stars on the deck, at the Rano Boma or we can organise a private setting for you. We also have the gathering pit where we can organise a BBQ, it is the perfect spot for a family to chat and toast their marshmallows after dinner. The Rano Boma, its walls made from branches and built up piece by piece, captures the drama of an African night and embraces the power of the wilderness. It’s an open-air dining area, perfect for star gazing and lazy evening cocktails. The Boma offers customised menu options and private dinners can be arranged in the most romantic setting. The Boma is equipped with a fully stocked bar, including a comprehensive selection of excellent South African wines. Let us make your holiday one to remember.
