If a remote spot is what you ate looking for this is the one. The lodge is far from everything and the road to the lodge are not for the fainthearted.

They offer dinners, but not worth the money. 3 course buffet comes on a first come first serve basis and you might get "left overs" if not there at the exact serving time.

Clearly caters for international travelers
Dreadful!
Carolyn Keyzer, South Africa - Tuesday, 07 July 2015
We booked and paid for 3 nights camping. There are no camping sites! There is a sort of a boma with raised concrete platforms about 3 metres high in an amphitheatre style which is completely impractical. We looked at the attendant in disbelief when she said you can put your tent up there. We have a fixed roof top tent! No electrical points. No shade. No braai facilities. The bathroom was full of building material. This place should NOT advertise camping. The surrounding buildings looked run down. A bitter disappointment. An insult to the high standards of tourism in the Kruger region.
Great place, amazing staff

I spent a night and the morning at Shalati, it was great, the dinner and the breakfast were really good, and everyone there was very nice and helpful.
I didn't do the game drive and I regret it, I was recommended to do it next time I come back and I will come back!
Great stop-over

This was a great stop-over. The rooms were clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. A great location point to explore the Kruger National Park.

A pleasant surprise. Very reasonable rates and wonderful food. Friendly staff all from the local community. Situated right next door to the Manyeleti gate and easy access to the Orpen gate for Kruger Park. Basic rooms but a bit confined but adequate and clean. Overall we enjoyed our 2 night stay.

Very friendly people. A simple but nice place where to stay if you want a break from the noise of modern life. Good 'cuisine'.
A wonderful experience

Shalati is rustic, tranquil, very neat and the staff are extremely accommodating. Rustic and peaceful, we enjoyed our stay with them. Food was great and the Shalati Choir and dancers entertained us well. Shalati usually caters for inbound budget groups from overseas. We were very impressed with the friendly, helpful service and great food. Well done chef! David, Shalati’s tourguide is happy to arrange walks or cycles to the nearby Shangaan village where one can visit the local school and also be advised on the rural lifestyle and farming of the community.
Fun and Friendly Place to stay.

We recently spent a night at Shalati and really had a great time. James and his team were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much to ask of them. We were greeted by David and shown to our huts. The huts allow you to hear the sounds of the Manyeleti game reserve at night. Unfortunately we were only there for one night, but will definitely be going back again soon
