Big house, Nice location! No privacy because there is another cottage in the garden! Never seen a house this dirty And we are not very demanding...hairs everywhere, toilet And shower too dirty to use! Had to clean them myself first. (Poop And blood on walls And toilet) Shame, because the size of the house And location were Nice. We could also have a late check out time. Think the cleaners hadn't done there job for a long time!

The stay at craven cottage was a total disappointment! A real waste of money. The hygiene was not up to standard at all. A leaky defrosted refrigerator, burned inside of microwave, dirty utensils, a small colony of ants and overall lack of cleanliness all contributed to an unpleasant stay. Although this place has the potential to be really nice, the detail was certainly lacking. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
A lovely stay

Craven Cottage was an excellent experience. It is ideally located for parents with kids at the university. We will have no hesitation staying there again. Many thanks.

Craven Cottage
This historical monument consists of a Main Cottage and a Rear Cottage which are separated by a garden courtyard. The establishment is one of 18 historical slave quarters, which once formed two whole blocks and is now a proclaimed National Monument.

The Main Cottage has a downstairs bedroom with an extra length queen-size bed with an adjacent bathroom, an upstairs twin bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen and living room overlooking the courtyard. The kitchen is comprehensive with appliances, an oven and hob, microwave oven, a fridge-freezer, as well as a scullery with a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble-dryer.

The Rear Cottage comprises a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a bathroom and a kitchenette with appliances, an oven and hob, dishwasher and a mini fridge-freezer. Both cottages feature air-conditioning, a TV with a DVD player, Moketi down duvets and pure cotton linen.

The cottages are situated in a block adjacent to the main campus of the University of Stellenbosch and is thus in the heart of Stellenbosch, with supermarkets and restaurants all within walking distance. Parking is available for an additional R20 per day. Please note that we require a minimum stay of two nights.
