It was great. The place is quiet and therefore great for taking a break from the city traffic. Amazing staff too.

A mystery of an awesome, caring, serene and exotic country experience right in the city of Johannesburg.

Upon arrival I was impressed by the tranquil surroundings, courteous staff, farm-like theme and clean accommodation. If I should have enough funds, I would like to visit in winter. Spring was excellent. I have fond memories of Kilulu Lodge.
Great Place

Kilulu Lodge is a great place to relax and start your journey to and around Johannesburg. The Apartment we were living had 2 spacious and clean rooms and a nice sitting area outside.
My stay at Kilulu Lodge

It was my first time in that area and the lodge in particular. I found the lodge to be very pleasant and peaceful. My idea of 'home away from home'. The dogs who were fairly visible made me a feel sort of safe. The staff were friendly, attentive and willing to assist. The lodge would fit any kind of traveller; whether with family or otherwise. There is ample of space to play (for small kids) yet it is quiet enough for any adults needing peace and quiet

My wife and I ;had 4 nights at Kilulu and we enjoyed our romantic honeymoon. The breakfast is perfect to the taste and surely filling. Its a quiet and secure small place that is suitable for couples.
Renovating - but give it a try!
Anonymous, Australia - 10 August 2009
Kilulu Lodge is undergoing some renovation at the moment - which it really needs. That being said, the service was great, Philemon and Nomsa were both very charming and helpful. We stayed in the luxury cottage. It looks a little run down from the outside but it's very well equipped and clean and comfortable and we loved the bath. Kilulu needs cosmetic sprucing up but we generally enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was outstanding.

We had a great time at Kilulu Lodge, Katja was really friendly, welcoming and helpful! We were attending a wedding nearby, and the honeymoon suite was the perfect end to a lovely evening. The breakfast laid out on the patio was superb and HUGE! The late checkout time (12 noon) really helped to extend the stay, rather than rushing to leave early. Well done Katja, a lovely place we would definitely recommend.
Fantastic Ambience

The ambience of the place and the people were fantastic. After a long and stressful journey , Kilulu Lodge was the perfect place to unwind.

Kilulu Lodge
Highly recommended by the AA, this 4 Star Guesthouse on Johannesburg's Westrand, only 7 minutes from Lanseria Airport, excel’s with Old World charm yet modern in the form of an internet hotspot, garden Jacuzzi and impeccable service.

Owner Katja Berker, lovingly collected African crafts during her time as a journalist in Southern Africa which is visible throughout the lodge. The main house and all Suites are stylishly decorated with an eye for detail and some tongue in cheek fusion of colonial and African chic.

The romantic garden Jacuzzi is highly popular amongst our regular customers and the seven garden suites all have their own veranda with a view over parts of the 2.6 hectare garden.

Some of of them have an open plan kitchen, fire places and reading corner. All of them have an en-suite bathroom, some with their own courtyard, all with TV, mini bars and coffee and tea facilities.

Kilulu Lodge is situated near Lanseria Airport, and the well-known Ruimsig and Eagles Canyon Golf courses and in walking distance of Monash University. The area is ideal to explore numerous nearby places of interest like The Dome, The Cradle of Humankind, The Lion Park, Botanical Gardens and Rhino Park.

Also well known restaurants such as The Spinx, Casalinga, Angie's and Ramkietjie. Featherbrook and Clearwater Mall shopping centres are just down the road, making it convenient for the self-caterer. Come and see this beautiful retreat for yourself. Please note that all prices given include breakfast and do change should breakfast not be required.
