A great stay for thirsty, dusty travellers

One of the few places to stay with all you need on a long road through Namibia. Great food, comfortable bed and friendly staff!

As usual, everything was super. Staff is pleasant and professional, the room very tidy and up to date and the breakfast very satisfying. A jewel in all of Namibia!

A place never to be visited again: A ONCE OFF
Herman Sekoto, South Africa - Sunday, 18 December 2016
1. Bad arrangements: mixed up between safari & guesthouse
2. Place needs renovation (not maintenance)
3. Grime on old shower doors (can b cleaned now).
4. Shower door in room 4 must be fixed.
5. Pictures on websites are misleading & you only find out when on site.
6. Facility shares site with construction company
My recommendations
A. This site should rather be for construction company
B. Safarinow should remove it their site (brand reputation compromised unless it is their STD)
C. Safarinow must visit facilities on their websites at least once to ensure that they are not marketing junk
The good advertisement
Francois De Klerk, South Africa - Monday, 20 June 2016
The advertisement and marketing was very good, however, the reality fell far short.
Schützenhaus April 2015
Marais Viljoen, South Africa - Monday, 04 May 2015
The overnight stay at Schützenhaus was pleasant and comfortable.  The rooms were clean, neat and comfortable. Vehicles were watched by a security guard.

The restaurant had an extensive menu but the kitchen did not have stock of many of the items.  The food that was served was of good quality and the diningroom staff was efficient ad friendly.

After dinner we had a drink in the adjoining bar and was quickly drawn into conversation with the locals having a Friday night drink.

If you are looking for an overnight stay in Keetmanshoop, give Schützenhaus a call!
Not very inviting from outside but..
Lloyd Macklin, South Africa - Sunday, 05 April 2015
Rooms are clean and tidy and the security is good so an overnight is recommended.Very pleasant atmosphere in the Pub and as a bonus they serve a truly exceptional Eisbein. Strongly recommend that your stay over gives you enough time to visit the local Quiver tree forest and Giants Playground.
The fantastic rock formations are incredible.
The Pub and food warrant a 4Star rating but let down by the outside appearance.

We arrived from the south but the directions given were from the north. No street names. Road works! Finding the place was a hassle. Surroundings extremely dusty; no garden. Room reasonable. Breakfast not of the best. The redeeming feature is the friendly well-spoken staff.
Good

We should rather have missed Keetmanshoop and gone elsewhere. Schutzenhaus not bad, was clean and comfortable, but very basic.
Very friendly, helpful and honest people
Dirk Steyn, South Africa - Monday, 01 July 2013
We've really enjoyed our stay at the Schützenhaus Guesthouse. We left a bit early and they even prepared lunch packs for us. Upon arrival at home, my wife realized that she forgot a bag in the cupboard and the people at Schützenhaus Guesthouse was honest and kind enough to organize that it be returned to us. Thank you very much for everything, we will definitely recommend people to stay there as well as stay there ourselves when we pass through.

Really enjoyed the stay after a long day's drive. Friendly people, enjoyed a nice meal at the restaurant and found the guest house to be real value for money. A special thanks to the gentleman for looking after us in the bar and the security guard on duty for making sure that we were comfortable, plus looking after my transport.

Schalk Louw, South Africa - Monday, 12 July 2010
Our stay Scutzenhaus was unforgettable. We were en route to Windhoek for a reunion and the people at Schutzenhaus (especially the kitchen and reception staff) made the first night and last night of our Namibia sojourn special. The restaurant menu has to be strongly recommended. We will spread the word of the place and definitely be back. Thank you and Gesundheid!
Great

The guesthouse was great and Ingrid, our waitress was particularly good. The rooms were VERY cold though. There was no heating in the rooms with 2 beds.

Schutzanhaus Guesthouse, Keetmanshoop
Jane Sinclair, South Africa - Sunday, 30 August 2009
Bar and food fine. Attentive waiter. Rooms and bathroom clean. Building has peeling paint and is generally not aesthetically pleasing. Not sure if there is any better option in Keetmanshoop. . Namibian politician's pictures on chairs! in reception.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Schützenhaus Guesthouse. The rooms are neat and the bathroom that our room had was enormous. The breakfast was fantastic and everybody was very friendly. I will definitely stay over at Schützenhaus Guesthouse on my next trip to Namibia.
