Beautiful Bazaruto

We truly enjoyed our stay at Pestana Lodge on Bazaruto Island, it was a gorgeous setting and the accommodation was lovely. The food was fantastic and there were plenty of water activities to keep one busy. My only complaint is the lack of communication between the Maputo office and the island. Payment was difficult due to the lack of communication, and we had changed dates which had not been relayed to the island. Other than that it was a fab trip.


Pestana Bazaruto Lodge
The island of Bazaruto is undoubtedly a beautiful and unexplored destination, characterized by wildlife, turquoise waters and idyllic beaches, all carefully protected as a natural reserve.

The Pestana Bazaruto Lodge is situated in a bay on the north side of the island. This setting offers a unique combination of beauty, security and relaxation that makes it the perfect spot for nature lovers, as well as divers and sea sports enthusiasts. There are 26 thatch-roof, A-frame chalets strewn along a beautiful beach and sited among tropical gardens. A blend of bright colours with African-style décor complements the tropical island atmosphere. Full board is compulsory all year round.

At the Flamingo restaurant, dinner is announced every night by the sound of African drums. It is situated in the main building and can seat approximately 80 people. Our specialties are fish, seafood dishes and grills and the restaurant is open daily for breakfast from 7h00 to 10h30, for lunch from 13h00 to 15h00 and for dinner 19h30 to 22h00. There is a kids menu available and meals can be arranged before normal times. Our Sunset Bar is open daily from 07h00 to 01h00 offering coffee, tea, drinks, tropical cocktails and light meals.

With our Convention Centre you really can combine business and pleasure. Comprising 54 square meters and with a capacity of up to 25 delegates, Pestanas Bazaruto Lodge's meeting room offers the ideal set-up for your business getaway. The Business Centre is equipped with two computers, two laptop connections and an Internet connection.

The impressive beauty of the coral reefs complements this subtropical ecosystem, enriched by the abundance and rare beauty of the tropical fish. The archipelago is deservedly known as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean. Pestana Bazaruto Lodge is situated on the largest island of the Bazaruto Archipelago, approximately 600 km to the north of Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. The island is 35 km in length and 7 km across at the widest point, and is a little piece of paradise.
