Awesome weekend at Greenfire Lodge
Dewi Macomber, South Africa - Monday, 28 September 2015
Dear SafariNow, We did enjoy our long M weekend at Greenfire Lodge, it was awesome and the beauty of the range of mountain is unspeakable. My husband enjoyed the hiking and the birding. Our kids enjoyed so much the horseback riding through those beautiful mountains. Fly fishing was also so much fun. We plan to go there again in the near future.
Peace, Bliss, Isolated Heaven

We had an outstanding weekend at Greenfire Lodge and we would return in an instant!  Our time there was peaceful, calm and deeply restorative.  We loved the 2 hour hike to the vulture colony, which involved bushman paintings, serious inclines and the majesty of the drakensberg mountains.  Rozanne and Shaun were excellent hosts.  We'll definitely be back.

Our stay at Drifters was amazing. Our hosts Adri and Otto were most hospitable and accommodating, right down to a personal call when it was dinner time! What a lovely setting, fantastic food and peaceful atmosphere! Thanks - Ryan & Bernie
Amazing stay in Drankensburg

Thank you so much for an amazing stay, the cabins were wonderful, the food was great and the hosts were super friendly and accommodating. I would recommend Drifters Lodge to anyone wishing to visit this beautiful area of SA. However, be warned that the Drifter hike is not a walk in the park! I would case it as a hard walk... take sunscreen and lots of water and be prepared for at least a 6 hour hike up and down the mountain! Very nice hike though, really enjoyed it. Thanks Otto.
We had an absolutely fabulous time.

It was so quiet and peaceful, and the service we received was out of this world. We will most definitely be back for another stay very soon! A big thank you to Otto and Adri for making our stay memorable.

Always great to stay in the mountains and Drifters provides value for money with personal service. Will return with the kids one day.
Wonderful weekend

We had a wonderful weekend at the Inn. Adri and Otto looked after our every need and were happy to deal with the mob of 5 kids under the age of 6. With the hiking; fishing and mountain biking as well as the awesome location it was a great place to visit. Before our stay, we were even advised to bring up extra blankets as it had been really cold there ----great service
Breathtaking view

The Inn was clean and beautiful. The host Danie was amazing. We met wonderful people there. The view of the berg is breath-taking!!! The area was so nice, quiet and so serene, it was unbelievable! It's a wonderful place to visit especially if you want to get away from the hectic life of the city. Would definitely be booking again to stay a bit longer.

We have just spent a long weekend at Drifters Drakensberg Inn and were most impressed. It is a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the big city and is peaceful and beautifully situated. Fantastic Views, walks and accommodation. We had a great time and the Manager at the time Johan Harley is the perfect host and is also great fun. Well done Drifters, keep up the good work. Best regards to the staff.

Greenfire Lodge Drakensberg
Situated on a national heritage site, this 2000 ha indigenous property is an unbelievably beautiful destination. The mountain lodge is accessible by a 4x4 only or alternatively we can arrange transport for you. The lodge is situated at an elevation of 1800 m above sea level and is shadowed by the greater Drakensberg peaks on the property.

The closest village is Bergville, some 50 km away. Home to a colony of the rare Cape vulture and many other indigenous species including eland, as well as lush indigenous forests, bushmen paintings, the reserve is fantastic for hiking, mountain biking and exploring.

Accommodation is in en-suite Canadian-style log cabins, or family cabins each comprising of two twin-bedded bedrooms sharing a bathroom. Each room has a fireplace. There is a main communal cabin for eating and a cosy bar for socialising, overlooking the Royal Natal National Park’s famous amphitheatre.
