The room needs some tongs for the fire place. Can be a bit difficult putting wood into the lit fire without tongs

What a well run, friendly establishment! Quality accommodation, well equipped and silver service! Craig went out of his way to make our stay a pleasant one. We will definitely be back!

We loved absolutely everything. It was clean, warm and very cosy.

I've been coming to Clarens regularly for 15 years, and like so many places in this shrinking, social-media driven world, it seems to being "loved to death". Parking on the square this time was problematic every day I was there (non-holiday period), so it was very nice to "retreat" to Country House and Craig's over-the-top hospitality!

It was a wond e wonderful trip, the service was amazing. They made us feel at home. The breakfast was out of this world.

We had a wonderful stay in a spacious room well furnished with all the things we needed after having been welcoming by the smiling and enthousiastic Maggie ! If we have to go back to Clarens will be back to the same place !

We checked in to the Clarens Country House for a 1 night stay on the way to the Drakensberg. The room was beautiful and well appointed. The setting in Clarens is perfect. Loved it and will be back.

The people are verry nice and happy to see you. Every thing is super clean, great view and safe. A little noisy in the mornings when the staff is in the garage under the loft. But great service!! 

Our stay at the Clarens Country House was a delight and just far enough away from the village to enjoy a short cycle ride.
Our room was lovely with all our needs met.

We had a great stay at TCCH. Even though it was a working weekend we felt very welcomed. The rooms where cozy and the beds comfortable. The little kitchen unit was also a great addition.

We stayed in the Shepherds Loft which was really cosy and well equipped for a wonderful stay. From the friendly reception to the welcome sherry, coffee and biscuits and most of all, the enticing fire place which was just what the doctor ordered for the cold winter nights. We will definitely be back!

Had a lovely stay in the Shepherd's Loft. The unit is extremely functional and cozy. I'm sad that I never had time to light the fire, maybe next time. The vouchers for coffee and beer were an absolute bonus. It's lovely staying a bit out of the craziness of town on a long weekend. It's walking distance from anything important.

We had an amazing weekend away. Would recommend it to anyone that's looking for a quiet and peaceful breakaway.

What a delightful and quiet place to stay! Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, with all the little extra touches like a wide variety of teas and coffees, rusks and biscuits, the milk in the fridge and the sherry as an appetizer, everything was just perfect. We recommend it to anyone who would like to spend some relaxing time in this part of the country. Many thanks to our friendly hosts - we will definitely be back.

The shepherd's loft has everything that you need for a romantic weekend getaway. It's very private and peaceful, the facilities are great and the views are to die for. Clarens is stunning! It is not possible to fit everything there is to do and see into one weekend. We'll have to go back for more!

We had a marvellous stay and highly recommend it to all! We will definitely stay there again when we visit Clarens in the future. The Oudhout Suite was lovely, very clean and tidy and the warm welcoming touch of having lovely rusks and biscuits, coffee, tea and milk was wonderful - as well as the sherry as a nightcap! Splendid indeed!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Clarens Country House. The welcome was great and the room even better, cozy and beautiful.

The accomodation was perfect for a weekend getaway. Right across the road from the main city centre, but far away enough so that you arent competing for parking. The unit had a seperate kitchen with a couch and cofee table. Stocked with coffee and tea. Fully equiped with stove, microwave, fridge and kettle. They even provide rusks and biscuits. Rooms are serviced daily and they provide free internet. Everything you need for a perfect couples weekend.

The Clarens Country House was absolutely amazing.
You get much more than what you pay for like milk, rusks, filter coffee and sherry on arrival. The accommodation is also very nicely furnished and decorated and they have loads of space. The heaters in all the rooms (including the bathroom) is a great addition as winter nights are quite cold. It was wonderful. I really recommend it.

We stayed in the Shepherds Loft room which was romantic and tucked away from the main building. The room was cosy and well equipped to handle the cold winter in Clarens. It came stocked with tea, coffee, sherry, biscuits and rusks which really was the icing on the cake. I would highly recommend this establishment!

We stayed in the Shephards Loft at the Clarence Country House. It was cute and cosy, with a nice spacious bathroom and dinky little kitchen area with a dining table. Lovely big picture windows opened onto wonderful views on both sides of the apartment, and the front door has a glass panel which opens a view of a beautiful old willow tree! We were really comfortable despite the chilly evenings as there are plenty of heaters in the apartment.
Our hostess, Toni, was very friendly and helpful. She has a booklet in the apartment which details things to do and places to go which is very helpful, and she also made reservations for us at some of the local eating establishments which made life so easy!
I will stay there again and am happy to recommend it to others!

We stayed at the Clarens Country House in the Bosman suite for a weekend and wished it could last a week! Its stylishly furnished with everything you need and more. The surroundings are beautiful and it was lovely to walk barefoot on a thick grass carpet again. I will definitely recommend the Clarens Country House to anybody going to Clarens.

We had a lovely stay at Calrens Country House. We received a warm welcome from the friendly hosts and the little self catering unit (shepherds loft) had absolutely everything we needed.

This stay was a pleasant surprise and a real treat: very high standard lodging for an affordable rate in a stunning environment. It is self catering cottages with a well equipped kitchen and nice treats, like; Clarens filter coffee, fresh milk and rusks, a chocolate treat and sherry. The Sheepshed Gallery is part of the guest house and is like visiting a national monument. The whole setting is with good taste. This is the only place to stay in Clarens!

This property rose way above our expectations. Everything in the room was of first class quality and the attention to detail was impressive. Would recommend to all.

We enjoyed our anniversary weekend @ Clarens Country House (OUHOUT SUITE)! What a nice place! Our host, Toni, was very helpful and thought of every little detail - from sherry on arrival, candles in the bathroom, earl grey tea and "moerkoffie" & rusks in the kitchen, milk in the fridge ... to ... a hairdryer, very clean "spierwit" towels, sjampoo and lotions! Rooms are spacious and clean, bedding white and 100% cotton, good quality beds! Oom Schalk se stoep - nice for relaxing with a book or enjoying the view of the golf estate and Clarens town. Very relaxed weekend! Excellent customer care and friendly host and staff. Our batteries are recharged! We will definitely visit again soon and will recommend to everyone!

Attention to the small details made for a very special romantic breakaway. The Clarens Country House will surely see us again!

My husband and I spent a lovely three days in Clarens. The Clarens Country House was perfect and clean with good bed linen, heaters, electric blankets, etc. Everything was just perfect for our needs. Our room was nicely appointed and the hospitality extended by Toni and Peter was excellent. They made sure we had everything we needed, in fact, Toni even made a booking at the restaurant where we were intending to have a celebration dinner. We will be back!

We had an amazing time here from 28-31 July. We decided to spend my birthday weekend in Clarens, and this was the best choice in accommodation. Toni and her husband arranged a discount for us in restaurants as well as for spa treatments. The suite we stayed in was beautiful, and we appreciated the electric blanket and heaters everywhere around the house. We could not tell it was below freezing point outside as we were so cozy and warm inside.

We had a very comfortable stay – everything was perfect and we will thoroughly recommend Clarens Country House.

We stayed in the Shepard's Loft at the Clarens Country House. As soon as we entered the door, my wife and I fell in love with the place! Very cosy and neat! The Shepard's Loft is very private, with it's own entrance and private parking! Toni seems to know everyone, and organised us discounts and coupons at the local establishments! We received a huge discount at the golf course! We really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend The Clarens Country House to anyone!
