We were pleasantly surprised by this beautiful place. Much more than we bargained for! We always insist on an extremely safe and enclosed garden for our three dogs. But this garden was so much more. It kept the dogs occupied and safe! Journey's End is beautifully furnished, fully equipped, peaceful, has beautiful views of magnificent sunsets, has a great kuierstoep and is very safe. The garden invites all bird life, so that stoep is essential, especially early in the mornings. You might even spot some wildlife! And then, last but not least, the greatest host ever. She is a true dog lover - even spoiled them with droëwors treats!
Do not hesitate for a split-second! Just book this place. We already did for next year! We are hooked! This place is chicken soup for the soul...

Ons het ons verblyf so geniet. Dit was rustig, goed gelee aan die stil kant van die berg met 'n uitkyk oor Paternoster in die verte - met die son wat in die see verdwyn.
Dit was die ideale plek om ons reis af te sluit - by Journey's End....
Convenient to go to all the touristy places.

The accommodation was perfect for a retreat from the city busyness. Enjoyed watching the different colourful bird species flying to and fro into a creative garden setting of succulents, lavender bushes, flowers and trees whilst sitting in a space of your own.

We loved the view and the quietness.
The only thing that can improve is the TV....maybe DSTV and a more modern flat screen TV.
Peaceful with great sunsets

Christ's and Johan are such welcoming hospitable hosts who made us feel at home. We loved the garden with all its uniqueness. The little chalet has everything you need for a weekend away.
The views are beautiful and the silence so deafening. The evenings were my best because it seemed like all was well with the world.

The West coast just offers something special and the fully equipped accommodation made it even better. Although the wind was pumping the sheltered braai area allow us to enjoy this luxury.

Was such a well rested holiday for us and our fur babies. Christa and Johan are the most generous and accomodating hosts. It feels like home away from home. the place is clean and comfortable. The fur kids had freedom in an enclosed area. i strongly recommend this establishment.

We had a grat stay at Journey's End.
It was probably the cleanest place I have ever stayed in. Also very cozy.Everything carefully chosen for a beautiful overall impression. Christa was very friendly and and made us feel welcome.
It had stunning views and lovely garden.
I am however dissapointed in the actual town. Was hoping for a more West Coast feel and more places to sit and eat etc with sea view and some nice local shops with craft and art etc. but aside from the Nursery there were none St Helena is a place where rich Gautengers are all in competition for a bigger house. It has absolutely no caracter and nothing worth going back for.
JOURNEY'S END was the only highight.

My husband and I, along with our two Bassets had the most wonderful stay! Christa and Johan were very accommodating, even going the extra mile to doggie sit one afternoon while we went out for lunch in Paternoster. Journey's End is in close proximity to the "Golden Mile", which was a fantastic recommendation of Johan's. Wonderful hosts, lovely location, definitely a must!

I had a lovely stay at Journey's End. It was peaceful and restful - just what I was looking for. Christa was friendly and helpful but did not at all intrude. My dog loved it too and the beautiful beaches nearby. It will be better still when they have an enclosed garden directly of the guest balcony.

From the moment we'd paid our deposit until we arrived, Christa kept in touch with friendly emails. On arrival we were met by Crista and shown around. She quickly took us to our verandah where we watched and photographed a most beautiful sunset. moments later we were on the opposite side of the house taking in the moonrise. it was the day before full moon and it was big and round. The next morning a magical big red moonset to to the background sounds and sights of the awakening birdlife just before dawn. Apart from this wonderful experience of nature we really enjoyed the clean comfortable and homely accomodation. Every thing one would expect from a first class self catering establisment and more was there for us to enjoy. Christa is a truly frienldy person and looked after us really well. Given the opportunity we would happily do it all again.

Cooper and I want to thank Christa and Johann Botha for an ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL stay at their guesthouse, JOURNEY'S END in St Helena Bay. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the decor was just beautiful. The setting, with the panoramic vista is exquisite. They are warm and welcoming hosts, right down to the chocolates on each bedside table. We would recommend Journey's End anytime.

Journey's End
Situated in the fishing town of St Helena Bay, guests will find Journey’s End. This lovely self-catering open plan (studio type - no separate rooms) unit is located on a one and half hectare small holding on the beautiful hill Britannica Heights on the St. Helena bay peninsula and offers breathtaking views and sunsets over a valley, Paternoster and the ocean in the distance. Rich in nature and birdlife. Perfect for a break away from the busy hustle of city life, if you are looking for peace and serenity. Only 5 min drive (down the hill) from the closest beach, Sandy Point, St. Helena Bay harbour and amenities. Lovely quiet roads where you can safely walk, jog or cycle and only 100 metres walk away you have an awesome view over the whole bay of St. Helena. The unit is fully equipped for self-catering and features a queen-size bed, en-suite shower, kitchenette with large fridge/ freezer compartment, mini stove with oven, microwave, dining area, 50 DSTV channels and portable braai facilities on the patio. All linen and towels are provided, except beach towels. Complimentary tea, coffee and sugar. We are pet friendly allowing up to 3 small to medium dogs, house trained, sociable and by prior arrangement with owners. The unit has its own fully fenced garden for doggies to enjoy. St Helena Bay and surrounds has much to offer, such as white shell strewn beaches, calm waters with dolphins visiting regularly. Humpback and Southern Right whales come to calve in our bays from July-October, stunning spring flowers in abundance after good rains. In our harbour, lovely fresh snoek can be bought straight from the boats during the snoek runs. Plenty of crayfish during season. Visit the Berg River Estuary for a relaxing boat cruise up river, a bird watcher's paradise. Walking trails, cycling, horse riding on the beach and visit the Cape Columbine Lighthouse, nature reserve, Tietiesbaai and quaint town of Paternoster, West Coast national park, which are all close to St Helena Bay. Helena Bay is the ideal base from which to explore the West Coast and outlying quaint little towns and areas on day drives.
