About The Gollege
The Gollege is situated in Clansthal on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast and offers a quaint, private thatched cottage, catering for one or two people. The large, park-like garden boasts beautiful sea views and the cottage features an en-suite bathroom and DStv. After a peaceful night’s sleep, a full continental-style breakfast awaits.
The history of The Gollege is an interesting one. It is a self-standing cottage built near an old farmhouse, where the fourth generation of the same family live. The Gollege was built in the 1940s for boarding school friends who could not get home for holidays during the war years. Two brothers with the surname Gollege, whose parents lived in India, were regular visitors. Since used as an extra guest room, the name The Gollege has stuck. A bathroom has been added on recently, but the ethos remains the same.
The Gollege is within easy walking distance of the beach, and the Aliwal Shoal diving experience is directly offshore from Clansthal. Five minutes' drive north is the beautiful Umkomaas golf course and six minutes south is Scottburgh, with its famous swimming beach, another golf course and a bowling green.
Beach: Located within walking distance from the beach.
