About Morokolo Game Lodge

Morokolo Game Lodge is situated on the northern slopes of the Pilanesberg Mountains in the Black Rhino Game Reserve, recently incorporated into the Pilanesberg National Park, and boasts one the richest varieties of African wildlife, predators, fauna & flora in Africa. We are a small, private lodge, tucked away from the rest of the world.

Enjoy an African safari on our 10-seater game viewer with your own dedicated game ranger. Refresh in our cool swimming pool with a view of the Pilanesberg Mountains. Unwind in the intimate 6-seater Jacuzzi.

We have eight luxury suites, two are family suites and six are double suites. The double suites sleep two people (double or twin), and family suites sleep two people (double or twin) downstairs, and two people (twin) in the open loft. All the suites are spacious and fully air-conditioned.

Each suite has an ample en-suite bathroom with modern finishes (with bath and shower), a cozy Jetmaster fireplace, comfy seating area and private patio. There is a stocked mini bar in each room, which will be charged for on departure (cash only please). There is also a complimentary tea and coffee station in each suite.

The main entertainment area is open plan, and has a lounge with a LED TV, DSTV and DVD player, a beautiful bar area with pool table and various board games, and an outside patio area that seats up to ten people.
We have covered parking for four vehicles.

Our lodge can sleep a maximum of ten people.

Buffalo regularly roam in this area as they take shelter in remote areas not accessible to other visitors to Pilanesberg National Park. Characterised by a beautiful forest of Tamboti trees and regular sightings of the bad tempered Black Rhino, the Black Rhino Reserve is home to the BIG 5 (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant, and White & Black Rhino) as well as cheetah and wild dog. Antelope species include Sable, Tsetsebe, Eland, Gemsbok and Springbok. With a species list of over 354, the Black Rhino Reserve is also a true "birders paradise".

So whether you are a couple looking for an exclusive, romantic, private safari or you need to arrange a full family getaway, Morokolo Game Lodge is the place for you.
We also cater for small conferences and company getaways.

Conference Venues: Our boardroom table seats a maximum of 12 people.

Romantic: Our Jacuzzi is private and screened off.

Stayed for 1 night on the 27 August and was met by Jackie and Rhian on our arrival who gave us a very warm welcome before showing us to our beautifully equipped luxury home for the night. Rhian took us on two game drives which were well paced and with refreshments and lots of great information and chats. We saw white rhinos, elephants and plenty of eland as well as many exotic and interesting birds. There was a hospitality bar both in the room and at the main lodge and with plenty of alcoholic drinks (wine and beer) soft drinks and ice. We sat by the pool but it was a little murky due to probl...

The gate was opened for us and Robert greeted us with a delicious, refreshing drink, oshibori, and tour of the lodge and our cabin. I love the bathroom and in warmer weather, would love the outdoor shower. The bed and bedding were lovely. I do think I would remove the glass from the built-in glass container above the sink in the bathroom: it tricks one into thinking one can drink from the tap. Dinner and breakfast were great.

Lovely stay - however the ameneties in the bungalow lack. There was no soap or shampoo's in the shower/bath. There were only 2 bath towels, which were not replaced daily (we were there for 3 days). Coffee, tea, biscuits were not replaced. Should have had extra toilet rolls. Lovely game drives with really lovely ranger. Very knowledgeable, and willing. Food at the dining room / pub was outstanding. I would like to commend Kenny the waiter who was excellent.

Very impressed with the team at Morokolo. Byron and Lize were excellent and couldn't have been more helpful.

We enjoyed a lovely weekend at Morokolo and Black Rhino Reserve. The setting is beautiful, the staff are attentive and caring and were incredibly good with our little boy. We saw lion, leopard, huge herds of elephant and rhino, and our ranger, who was incredibly knowledgeable even took us on a night drive. All in all, an amazing weekend.
