About De Ark Guest House
Celebrating more than 150 years of existence, De Ark House is one of Lydenburg's oldest and most prominent buildings. De Ark features magnificent guest rooms in the grandest of fashion, a Victorian tea garden secluded by rose thickets and a restaurant befitting of royalty. De Ark Guest House has been graded by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa, in the category for guest houses, and received a total of 4 Stars for service excellence and unsurpassed luxury. De Ark offers a combination of self-catering or bed and breakfast services and we can currently accommodate up to 20 people sharing.
The guest house offers a range of luxury en-suite apartments including twin three-quarter, double, and queen bed options. Each room is furnished to represent a different period style, with an eclectic mix of period furniture and exquisite fabrics capturing the spirit of a bygone era. Each self-catering apartment is fully equipped with a complete kitchenette, which includes a stove, microwave oven and refrigerator, and is also equipped with a satellite television, electric blankets, heaters for winter and fans for those hot summer days. Our intimate Honeymoon Room also houses a luxurious spa bath.
The beautifully landscaped garden offers a tranquil getaway from everyday life and features a magnificent swimming pool, a gazebo and terrace which is suitable for private functions, barbecue facilities, and safe off-street parking. Breakfast is served in the dining room, with its beamed ceilings and open fireplace, offering wholesome country faire, while in summertime breakfast is served on the patio or in the lovely gazebo.
