About Blue Cottages

Set in a four-acre tropical garden, with a magnificent Drakensberg escarpment backdrop, Blue Cottages offers delightfully quaint accommodation in six individual cottages (including self catering and family options).

The main house comprises the original farm manager’s cottage built in 1948, by Captain Drury, on the pioneering Olifants River Estate. The original lampposts imported especially by Drury from London, can still be seen on the road leading to Blue Cottages.

The main farmhouse is next to Monsoon Gallery & Mad Dogz Café, which is forms part of the Blue Cottages.

The stunning Blyde River Canyon route is nearby, as are opportunities for rafting, hiking and bird watching,hot-air balloon rides and game viewing drives can also be arranged on request. Kruger Park’s Phalaborwa and Orpen gates are an hour’s drive away.

It is a slightly older establishment however, t was clean, the staff were really nice, the location was great for me. Everything worked, internet, TV,aircon so I was really happy. It's a bit of a gem unfortunately not many people find it. The breakfast was great. So staying in that peaceful surrounding on a business trip was awesome

We had Dinner there. It was well prepared and the Sirloin nice and tender. Wifi facility also appreciated.

The Blue Cottages are located in a beatiful area and the gardens are lovely. The rooms were comfortable and clean but the dinner was very disappointing. Breakfast was good

Our unit had a kitchen, lounge and en-suite bathroom as well as a little patio and private braai-area. It was clean and had lovely finishes. Will definitely recommend it as a stop-over en route to Kruger. Suki
