About Tranquility Self-Catering
Tranquility Self-Catering is situated in a quiet Jacaranda tree lined street of Robertson, just five minute drive from the town centre. Robertson is centrally situated in the Cape Winelands and offers an ideal base from which to explore the rich diversity of activities in the town and surrounds and those further afield. Some very interesting circular day trips are possible.
Our aim is to provide a peaceful haven for tourists and travellers.
Accommodation is provided in two Exclusive use units.
1. Tranquility Cottage, which is a self-contained exclusive use unit that accommodates 8+1 people
2. Tranquility Suite, which is housed in the main house and is an exclusive use private suite that accommodates 2 + 2 people
We are a retired couple who have chosen to enter the hospitality industry to keep us busy during our retirement years. We are peace and nature loving people who enjoy company and want to provide a peaceful haven for tourists and travellers.
We live on the same property and generally leave our guests to decide if they want to interact with us or enjoy their privacy.
Each returning visitor over the coming years will see our space grow and improve as time goes by.
ABOUT OUR VILLAGE.
Robertson is situated in the shadow of the majestic Langeberg Mountains with the Breede River as its life blood. Robertson is the western gateway to The Heart of Route 62, home to the world famous Wacky Wine Festival and Robertson Horse Show where some of the world’s finest thoroughbreds are showcased annually. Route 62 is the longest Wine Route in the World. Spanning a distance of 850km stretching from Cape Town, Constantia, to Port Elizabeth. With 150 years of history, Robertson has grown into one of the most attractive Cape Winelands towns, with Victorian buildings, jacaranda-lined streets and beautiful gardens. The region may be best known for its wine but the variety of attractions and activities combined with spectacular scenery and the relaxed hospitality of the people ensures visitors an unforgettable stay. A variety of accommodation is available to suit all needs, from backpackers to 4 star hotels, guest houses, bed and breakfasts, farm accommodation and much more. Robertson Wine Valley boasts a large number of cellars, co-operatives and private estates, our award winning wines will be a treat for all wine lovers. There are many diverse attractions, from a lazy river cruise to a vigorous mountain hike, elegant wining and dining to outdoor picnics and exploring our rich historical sites. The local farm stalls overflow with fresh produce, dried fruit and freshly made breads, homemade jams and preserves. Robertson and its surrounds are a paradise for the nature lover and sport enthusiast. In short, Robertson is 'food for your soul'

Family friendly: The premises are entirely fenced to ensure that children cannot enter the street.
All bookings accepted by Tranquility Self Catering Accommodation are subject to these Terms and Conditions that are deemed to have been accepted in full by the Client/Guest. Payment of a Booking Fee also indicates acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Renting units from Tranquility Self Catering Accommodation is not intended to confer possession on the Client/Guest or to create the relationship of landlord and tenant between us and the Client/Guest. The Client/Guest will not be entitled to any form of tenancy. The Client/Guest confirms that they will not be occupying the serviced unit as their only or principal home.
Reservations & Payment
Your booking is only confirmed following receipt of payment of the Booking Fee. When a booking is made, 50% of the total Rental Charge (Booking Fee) is required in advance to confirm the reservation. The balance (if any), of the Rental Charge is to be paid on the arrival date. If we do not receive full payment by this time, the reservation may be cancelled and the Booking Fee forfeited.
The Client/Guest may be liable for the balance of the Rental Charge and for any other costs involved in the attempt to re-let the serviced unit. Clients/Guests wishing to extend their stay are required to give at least 1 day notice, subject to the unit or an alternative being available. Payment must be made in South African Rand (ZAR) and must be clear of all bank charges, exchange rate variations and any other deductions. We accept the following methods of payment: Bank to bank transfer to our account and cash. Under no circumstances will accommodation be provided until we have received cleared funds to cover the Rental Charge. Failure to pay in accordance with the agreed terms of payment may result in suspension of accommodation. We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue accounts at 4% above South African bank base rate and to seek payment in full for accommodation during the suspension period. All rates are per person.
Cancellations must be notified to us in writing.
Deposit policy - Direct booking = 50% deposit. Remainder in cash on arrival.
Cancellation more than 1 month before check-in = 100% deposit refunded
Cancellation more than 1weeks before check-in = 50% deposit refunded
Cancellation Less than 1 week before check-in = no refund.
A change of arrival date or departure date by the Client/Guest may be treated as cancellation and re-booking. Tranquility Self Catering Accommodation recommends that the Client/Guest insures against cancellation.
The Rental Charge includes change of bed linen and towels once a week. Our minimum length of stay is 1 night, with no maximum.
Only Guests specified by name at the time of arrival by the Client/Guest may occupy the serviced unit. The Client/Guest must not assign, sublet or part with or share possession of the serviced unit or any part of it. Tranquility Self Catering Accommodation reserves the right to refuse admittance to the Guest if they are in breach of this condition.
Arrivals & Departures
Units are available for occupation after 14h00 on the day of arrival. Units must be vacated and keys returned by 10h00 on the day of departure. If there is a delay in vacating the serviced unit beyond 10h00, a full day's rental will be charged to the Client/Guest.
Keys will be provided for the serviced units and are to be returned in line with the departure terms as above. For any keys not returned, there will be a R50 charge. If the Client/Guest loses or misplaces their keys during occupation and require assistance to gain entry, an additional charge of R10 will be made.
Property Use & Conditions
The Client/Guest is responsible for taking all reasonable care of the serviced unit and its contents. The serviced unit and all equipment, utensils, furniture etc. must be left clean and tidy at the end of the Rental Period. No items may be removed from the serviced unit. Except in the case of normal wear and tear the Client/Guest will be responsible for making good any damage to the serviced unit or its contents which has occurred due to negligence, wilful damage or irresponsible behaviour on the part of the Client/Guest or their visitors. Such damage must be reported to us without delay. In the event that breakages or damage are discovered, or extra cleaning required, after departure, we will notify the Client/Guest in writing within 7 days of departure, providing detail of the issues and an invoice for the cost of rectifying them. Tranquility Self Catering Accommodation will not be held responsible for any personal injury, loss or damage to personal effects howsoever arising at the serviced unit or in the unit block or anywhere on the farm. Smoking is not permitted in the serviced units or communal areas.
Any complaints must be made in writing immediately to Tranquility Self Catering Accommodation. We shall not have any liability for any complaint received after the completion of the Rental Period.

No. Tranquility Self Catering Accommodation does not share any individual information you provide through the Booking Enquiry with third parties (except with your approval through the use of this Service). Tranquility Self Catering Accommodation may release specific information about your account to comply with valid legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena or court order, or in special cases such as a physical threat to you or others.
Is my personal information secure?

What happens if this policy changes?
If it becomes necessary for us to materially change this policy, we will provide prominent notice to those who use our service.
