About The Retreat Selous

The Retreat, located in Northern Selous, is a 12-suite exquisite hideaway that offers complete seclusion in the heart of remote bushlands. The Selous Game Reserve is the largest protected wildlife sanctuary in Africa and is widely accredited as being the most pristine wilderness and one of the secrets of Africa.

The 12 tented suites have been constructed in three independent units to correspond with the surrounding habitat, whilst guaranteeing privacy and romance. Each suite has its own private outdoor deck with a stunning outdoor antique copper bathtub. Ethnic elements, bespoke furnishings, African antiques, natural materials and precious stones have been blended to create a unique sense of comfort and natural luxury using principles of Feng Shui and the five elements in materials and interior design.

The Retreat appeals to those guests who crave adventure and authenticity. Whether it is hiking through the bush for several days, sleeping under the African sky in a fly camp complete with a private cook, butler and guide, or drifting down the Great Ruaha River in a canoe to view the vast array of birdlife, flora and fauna, The Retreat has something for everyone.
