The owner and host made our stay very enjoyable. Really close to De Rust but far enough away from anything else to help you really relax!

Sadly we arrived in rain and left in rain so couldn't explore outside as it was just an overnight stay. Owner Jeff has done a wonderful job our building these units which are tastefully furnished. Very comfortable cottages with outstanding views.

We had a very quick stay over to run the Meiringspoort Trailrun. Jeff was a gracious host and the we enjoyed our time at The Travelling Tortoise. The signs showing you the way to the campsite could be a little bigger though. Maybe bigger Tortoises =)

Loved the welcome from our host Jeff and the wonderful silence with beautiful views of the valley..Comfortable cabin with everything for self catering even lots of wood for the woodfire in winter. (will try that in winter Jeff!!so be warned!!)Great to watch the nightsky while a fire going..(nothing like a Karoo sky at night)A great place for a quiet getaway from it all!!Would like to go again and again if possible.

I enjoyed my time at The Travelling Tortoise. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. The ablutions are clean and nice spacious so your dry clothes stay dry and you have space to change.
